2023 four-star SF Curtis Williams Jr. trims list of schools
Four-star prospect Curtis Williams Jr. out of Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice tells On3 he’s down to six schools — Florida State, Alabama, Xavier, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, and Tennessee State.
Williams also received offers from Maryland, VCU, Tulane, Toledo, and others.
The 6-foot-6 small forward is ranked as the No. 52 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Williams has unofficially visited Notre Dame and Tennessee State. He will begin setting up official visits in the next couple of weeks.
Florida State: “(Leonard Hamilton) is one of the best coaches in college basketball. He sends players like me, small forwards, to the league almost every year. They know how to develop players and that’s a big key and what I look for.”
Alabama: “They’ve been recruiting me since my freshman year and have always been consistent. I think if I went there, their playstyle matches mine because they love to get up and down, shoot threes, and defend.”
Xavier: “They just got a new great coach. They’ve been recruiting me probably the hardest also. It’s a great program.”
Norte Dame: “Notre Dame has been building a great connection with me since the beginning of my sophomore year and its a great program. When I went on my unofficial visit, I loved it. What they’ve done with Blake Wesley is impressive so they’re pretty high on my list.”
Seton Hall: “Great new pickup in Shaheen Holloway for their coach! They have a chance to build something special there.”
Tennessee State: “It’s an HBCU and their basketball program has gotten extremely better over the years. My uncle went there and considering them is big to him and me.”

I was talking bout the thinly veiled shot at JD, we all like the Bradley quote
Posted on 5/11/22 at 2:40 pm to IRobbedMyMom

Gerald
9.8 pts/6 rebs/1.5 assists/shot 43.8% from the field/17.5% from 3/56.8 from the line/2.4 turnovers
JD

Bradley is my favorite player coming in. I think he’s still very underrated even as a top 25 prospect.
Interested to see what happens with Q as far as minutes go if we’re playing really good ball without him when he returns.
I know he has the injury but still surprised he chose to return tbh. I’m happy he did, though. Quinerly just needs to get his stroke back. Seemed like even with FTs his shots came up short a lot. Makes me think it’s mental with JQ.
I haven’t been surprised at all to see these big transfers look elsewhere btw. We didn’t forget how to recruit. Nate has brought in big transfers before too. Q and Burnett. They just don’t see the minutes working out like they want.
Burnett (technically not new)
Sears
Miller
Bradley
Griffen
Clowney
Pringle
This list of players incoming is a haul. A lot of talent.
Combine that with Bediako, Gurley, Miles and eventually JQ...a lot of good players to share minutes with when transfers are looking for more action.

We’ll be good next year regardless, top 25ish. If Miller is a hit we’re elite. Bradley seems to have a high floor most definitely

Welp, don’t expect Mike Jones to come here but can’t really blame him with the Stanford opportunity.
Watts:
We heard Nate Oats mention how they’d like to fill their remaining two spots today. One name of note is Davidson transfer Mike Jones. He’s a veteran guard that averaged almost 12 points a game and shot 42 percent from three last season. Earlier this month he narrowed his list to Bama, Northwestern and Stanford. Talking to sources this week and they indicate it seems to be down to the Tide and the Cardinal. With that being said, Jones has visited Stanford and sources close to the program feel that's where he's expected to go once he's accepted. If anything changes on that front we'll keep y'all updated. And we'll keep tracking the latest transfer news as it comes.

2 steps ahead of you. I don't expect anybody worth a shite to sign with us. I'll be pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

Anyone left who we have been tied to besides Akot? Starting to feel like those two scholarships aren't going to be used by anyone who might contribute.

It ain't over till it's official. Being optimistic here...

He had Northwestern and Stanford on there, so obviously academics had a big say in his decision as well. I should have known the sky is falling takes were gonna ramp back up when I posted it.

Remember that time I said I wish we'd keep role players like Holt and Gary because they were probably as good as the small school nobodies or big school bench warmers we were likely to get to replace them, AND our guys already had time in the system? Y'all remember that, do ya?
Nobody likes I-Told-You-So guy, but I don't mind being him.
