Agree, was thinking the same thing. They are completely different but I'd be very happy with either.

I'm torn between Lucas and Jones. Lucas did play against high-major defenses, but he also played for a horrible team. Is it more impressive for Lucas to put up the numbers he did as one of the sole focuses of a high-major team? Or is it more impressive with Jones scoring with the efficiency he did on a team with a balanced scoring attack? I tend to think Lucas mimics what we're losing in Shack better, but do we want that or a guy who takes good shots and plays within himself?

I'd be fine with Lucas as well. I think, like you said and we've been talking about, they both bring some very needed traits to the table. Jones is probably a better just flat out shooter but Lucas probably is a little more agile in what he can do shooting wise and might have the ability to take over games offensively at times. And then Council is certainly the best athlete/defender of the 3.
We can certainly work with any of the 3. Combine one of them with Sears and that's a really nice offseason (assuming we can't add Council and Lucas/Jones, which I've been working under the assumption of but could be wrong).
I think with Jones it really depends how good the non-shooting stuff is. From watching highlights against us, he has good feel as a passer and finished at the rim multiple times. I think his overall offensive game would be good enough to be more than just a guy who stands in the corner and makes 3s (which in and of itself would be huge). The bigger question, obviously, is defense/rebounding. From reading about him I don't think he's a terrible defender, but not a really good one. However, it sounds like he is a smart defender and a good team defender.

Three academic juggernauts, but only one of these teams made the NCAAT last year.

I think I'd want Council the most if we're only bringing in one. I think he provides more things that we need. Like our system proved last season, we don't need good shooters to have a good offense, but we absolutely need good defenders to have a good defense.

Yeah, gun to my head I'd pick Council. You can clean up shooting mechanics. The length and athleticism to be an elite defender is a natural gift you can't teach.

Same re: Council. He's a transition scoring machine and another thing we missed big time last year was scoring in transition (mainly because we weren't real athletic AND we didn't turn anybody over).
Add Council to the youth on this roster and our athleticism and length from last year to next year completely turns on it's head.

"Alabama is in a strong position with all 3." - BOL like 24-36 hours before 2 of them commit elsewhere.
