Knowing what I know about AAU, agents, scouts and add in the NIL stuff, I can only imagine money was involved in some of the biggest swings. Moving a guy that much this late doesn't make much sense unless other circumstances are involved.

That is an interesting point and makes me think about the possibilities of recruiting rankings being approached by outside individuals to try and get a kids rating up purely for valuation purposes

Back in the day, it was done by the shoe companies that would pay to move players to certain conferences and schools to boost exposure. It's gotten more sophisticated but it's happening.

Hadn't thought of that but it makes sense. The further down the list you get the more really, really big swings there are too. There's a kid they have moved up to 45th overall who was 126th in their last ranking.

Here is an absurdly thorough breakdown on Mark Sears and how he'll probably fit onto our team next year. Incredibly detailed with video examples. And funny enough, it's from a Dayton fan on Reddit.

i remember years ago there was a local kid put in the espn top 100 who never even had a chance at making his varsity team. if i remember right his daddy had some auburn connections. by senior year his name was eventually taken off since, he really was awful.
youth basketball in general has always been so corrupt. vultures everywhere.

Murray State transfer KJ Williams has picked up a crystal ball prediction for @LSUBasketball via @247Sports. Williams averaged 18/8/1 as a junior for the Racers. One of the best remaining players in the portal.

LSU could be solid next year if they add Williams along with Hill and Ward.
Georgia will certainly be better. Missouri too, probably.

It's starting to feel like everyone other than maybe Vandy and Carolina are going to be at least "good" and a few teams are going to be in the neighborhood of "great" to "elite". This has turned into such a tough league.
ETA: forgot about the Mississippi schools. Point stands, the league is tough.

Hopefully the NCAA recognizes that because of the portal and NIL they're going to have to be pretty ruthless if they want to actually punish LSU for their bullshite. Like losing 5-6 scholarships over 3 years, limited off campus recruiting for 3-5 years, multi-year postseason ban ruthless. Basically a punishment so bad that even the most motivated booster won't be able to buy them a competitive roster.

Lamont Paris was a pretty standard SEC hire just 10 years ago. We have come a long way.

Sooner or later one of these updates will have Alabama mentioned. I can feel it.

A random Dayton fan on Reddit has produced more quality Alabama basketball content and analysis than any of our pay sites.

I hope so. Feels like i've been posting random news from around the country for the last two weeks just to stay in shape.

Not to sound like I’m coping but the current 11 we got I feel like is a solid basketball team and is probably a 5-7 seed again

I was hoping we would do one of these this Summer.
