Looks like Fardaws Aimaq is going to commit to Texas Tech today.

If we could land Lucas or some other knockdown shooter, I think Minott would be the perfect last spot to come in and try to compete for PT at the 3/4. I think that’d solidify a pretty good roster top to bottom, especially if JQ is healed up in a reasonable time frame (not speculating as he can’t heal if I do that).

What are folks thoughts on Josh Minott from Memphis?

He hasn't put his money where his mouth is and hired an agent, but this quote:

quote:

"I don't plan to need my eligibility," Minott said. "My work ethic and talent should be able to propel me to a standing in the draft I'm comfortable with."

does not make it sound like he has much interest in continuing to play school.

Yeah I brought him up since he officially entered the portal. I know when he first talked about the NBA, he was saying he’s going to have a Primo type ride for the draft.

A lot of guys getting bad advice or just not listening to good advice. This guy isn't getting drafted this year.

If he comes back to college I'd be happy signing him. It'd give us a skill set we don't really have. He's probably going to be looking for a pretty significant guaranteed role if his predicted ascendency into the lottery doesn't materialize though.

I’m really disappointed you haven’t found the super secret visit information for Lucas yet.

I am also very disappointed in myself.

It's so quiet that it almost seems weird, right? There is literally not a word anywhere about it. I'm taking that to mean that he either didn't enjoy his visit at all and has zero interest whatsoever or it was wonderful and he silently committed to the staff before leaving and is working on getting his edit/social media post ready before going public. There is no in between.

I believe this means that Jai Lucas will become the first Duke men’s basketball assistant to not be from the Duke family since Krzyzewski hired MIke Brey back in the '80s.

And another indication that Scheyer, in some ways, will indeed run Duke differently than how K did.

Sadly, I think this is it. I mean surely we would’ve heard a little something by now if the we were expecting to get him.

There is definitely an in between. When he commits to Washington State one of our pay sites will immediately comment that "he just wasn't a good fit".

Seems like the buzz is Broome to Florida. If so, Golden did a heckuva job in the short time he's been there putting together a roster.

That means they’d presumably be starting Castleton and Broome. You really don’t see that sort of twin towers look in college basketball anymore. You don’t even see that much in the NBA.

Neither of them are stretch 5’s either. They were 0-14 from 3 combined last year.

Hell, they’re 0-22 combined over the course of their careers.

Yep - that would be an interesting roster to watch. Golden ran a pretty high tempo, 3 point shooting centric offense at San Francisco.
