There is so much Bogdan Bogdanovich in Baylor Scheierman. Has a lower and a slightly weird release, but his game reminds me so much of him.

Jarod Lucas will be in Tuscaloosa today.

Think if we can land Lucas we use that last spot on a developmental wing/defender type or take a flyer on a small school kid.
When you really start to look at it, the minutes breakout just can't really handle 2 dudes looking for starters type minutes.
List of guys who maybe fit that description?
- Keonte Kennedy (UTEP) (6'5 SO)
- Mikeal Brown-Jones (VCU) (6'8 SO)
- Aaron Cash (Texas A&M) (6'6 JR)
- Tuongthach Gatkek (Florida) (6'9 SO)
- RJ Duhart (App St) (6'9 JR)

After last off-season, I have given up on trying to project lineups and minute breakdowns

You mean with our remaining scholarships? Because I'm not even convinced we can handle 1 more guy looking for 25+mpg. Top 50 recruits and JuCo transfers expect to play. Burnett, Sears, Bediako, and Gurley all expect to play a lot of minutes next season. That's 9 guys, which is basically the most you can realistically play. Then you have to account for the possibility of Quinerly coming back sometime during conference play. Unless a couple of guys like Griffen and Clowney are on board with the idea of playing limited minutes as freshmen while they bulk up and develop some aspects of their games, we're already dealing with a bit of a minutes logjam.

The fact that we actually got him off the west coast and in T-town for a visit has to be a good sign.

Agree - he's not visiting unless he's serious.

I just want a team with leaders....that is hungry!! That's all I want!
I have no idea what his personality is or what kind of locker room presence he is, but the mere fact that Lucas is an automatic FT shooter and efficient, high volume 3pt shooter with 2 years starting experience for a P-6 program is enough for me. That checks every box for a Shack replacement IMO.

Also agree. No shot at all without a visit.
Nevada, SDSU and Wazzu are his previous visits so getting him to fly across the country means something. LSU and aTm are also recruiting him so we’ll see if he visits either of them before heading back out West.
He has two years of eligibility left I believe, so I’m pretty interested in him.

Yea it's a perfect replacement, and quite possibly an upgrade.

QUEEN BACKS UP THE HYPE
Currently ranked No. 10 in the class of 2024 by 247Sports, 6-foot-9 post player Derik Queen is coming off of a quiet sophomore season at mighty Montverde (Fla.) Academy. That’s not a concern because underclassmen don’t often put-up huge numbers there and the team is always loaded up with dudes. Even if there were any concerns – and there weren’t -- that Queen might be a little over ranked at this point, he quieted them in a major way with his play in Kansas City.
Playing in the 17U division with Team Thrill, the Baltimore native played as well as we have ever seen him play. He was catching in the high post and blowing by other bigs off the dribble to convert at the rim, he was scoring in the post, he was rebounding and showing off great hands, footwork and touch along the way. Simply put, when he wanted to go and score, he was pretty much unguardable.
Queen is in the process of changing his body and the result is more quickness and sneaky burst around the rim. The next step for him to become a truly great prospect is for him to play with the same energy that he does when the ball is in his hands when he is away from the ball. He’s no stranger to the big time and has offers from the likes of Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Georgetown, Indiana, Maryland, Syracuse and others with more to come.
