Mizzou transfer @durugordon visited @RhodyMBB Tuesday and the coaches will come see him next week as well.

Alabama is also in the mix now.

Mizzou freshman 6’6 wing transfer Sean Durugordon leads an open recruitment. Had 11 points against Kansas in 6 minutes.

Limited playing time, but bound to thrive in the future.

Alabama is now in the mix for Sean Durugordon from Missouri.

This tells me we didn’t have much of a plan B after Bridges

This guy would basically be a scholarship body. He would probably take KAH spot

Unable to gain traction with many high level transfers due to uncertainty with minutes allocations for next season and going into the season with only 10 healthy players would be a potential disaster. The guy will probably be here 2 years, do nothing, and grad transfer somewhere else, but he's at least a P-6 scholarship player who has 5 fouls to give if necessary. I'm not thrilled about it, but it appears this is where we're at.

Twitter says we are going after Jarod Lucas a 6’4 Guard from Oregon State who averaged 14ppg

38% from 3. I will take him

Jarod Lucas.

He would be a nice scorer off the bench, looks like an efficient shooter at all three levels. Has some pretty decent size for his position. 87% free throw shooter. Listed as a Combo Guard. Defensively I have no idea but paired with Burnett or Bradley and we should be fine regardless.

Not all 13 players are going to be in the rotation next year. We'll probably add one immediate impact guy (hopefully that can shoot) and take a flyer on someone else. He's basically taking a Holt/KAH/Tchikou role of someone you hope you can develop...if he does come here.

Updated Transfer target list (as of 4/21):

G Armoni Foster (IUP)
G Antoine Davis (Detroit)
G Jarod Lucas (Oregon State)
F Sean Durugordon (Missouri)

(Antonio Reeves was removed bc it seems like he’s headed to UK. Also, not including targets that haven’t been publicly reported)

Lucas is definitely a scoring option that is intriguing.

I like him as a shooter off the bench. Also provides more Guard depth until JQ returns for conference play. Hopefully, we can get him to visit, we apparently made his top 6 (along with A&M and LSU).

The last spot needs to be a Wing and I'm totally fine with him being more of a project if the staff goes that direction (still like Akot though). We would just need to hope Miles makes another jump for next season.

Based on this, Lucas would be a good scorer but worse defender than the guys who just left.

For reference, Jaden had a 107 defensive rating and Lucas is at 118. One of the worst ratings I've seen of the guys we've looked at.

Yeah Lucas would definitely be cool, as a degenerate gambler I’ve placed some coin on Oregon St games late night and he’s one of the few consistent players for them. Was huge in their elite 8 run. But yeah trae young esque defender.

and for what it’s worth I’d take Akot over that Mizzou kid 10/10

I’m highly skeptical we are actually recruiting the Missouri guy more than just a cursory hey and we’ll monitor you as we evaluate options.

Lucas was definitely not a game changing defender, but he also played on an absolutely horrid team defense, which makes it difficult to quantify how good an individual defender he is. Oregon State was #305 in team defense, so all of their individual defensive rating are going to be awful. I don't think he'd be any better than average, though.

I do think that is a little bit less of a concern for that role on the roster this year. We can hide 1 guy, the issue last year was hiding 2 of them.

I’m hoping the Mizzou guy is the if all else fails and we need a scholarship body option
