His freshman stats were actually a bit better than I realized, especially since Ohio had an NBA guard on their roster in Jason Preston.

8.5 points, 2.8 boards, 3.4 assists in 19 minutes a game.

And I don’t know if he’s a good defender, but he was at 1 steal per game as a freshman, 1.7 last year. That’s at least something.

I think he’s going to be really good. If we were to pick up Bridges, that would be an excellent pair to build around in the portal. Reeves would be cool, but we could also just look to fill needs (a pure 3 and D type, for example).

Zaga won’t be very strong next year. Alabama will absolutely beat them.

What if Keon Ellis wants to come back?

Then we welcome him with open arms.

He was disappointing at times with bone head plays but he’s still incredibly gifted with great length at guard. I like his stroke too despite his cold streaks.

I’m not sure why he’d want to play another year of college ball when he’s going to get drafted?

And it's not like he's only 20 or something either. Any good he would do for his stock by having a more productive season would be negated by him getting a year older.

In my opinion, it would be the best news of the off season.

You make/reserve space for him.

It’s just highlights but watching Sears he goes strong to the basket. Finishes tough shots through contact. Looks so in control with the ball in has hands.

Just what we need.

While his 3P percentage is more inconsistent than I’d like (29% to 41%), his FT percentage (85%, 88%) is what you’d expect out of a pure shooter.

His shot volume as a freshman was fairly low. Only 43 attempts compared to 147 as a sophomore. If he had just made 3 more he'd have shot 35%.

Herb has gotta be First team All-Defense and All-Rookie. Probably not many guys who have had that accomplishment in the same year.

Not when Giannis, Draymond, and Gobert exist.

Herb won’t make first team all defense, but he could maybe make second team. Which would be an insane accomplishment. Impossible to overstate how crazy you’d sound if you said that before the year started.

He should be first team all rookie.

None of those fricks play SF. Not sure if they do All-Defense as best five or one at each position.

I agree he probably won't have the media clout to get first team. But he should.

I think Keon would still get drafted anyway but I was just thinking like what if he just wants to come back to win a National Championship!

He will be a good three & d in the NBA!

I actually don’t think it would be completely crazy for Keon to come back. Unlike some of our guys, there are things he could do to improve his stock (he’s got to get bigger and stronger, for one) and maybe work his way into the first round.

But I don’t think he will.

Herb won't make First Team All-Defense. No rookie ever has. If he makes Second Team it would be an unbelievable accomplishment. The only rookies to ever make Second Team are Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Manute Bol.
