I think a reasonable timetable has him back by September

If he comes back, that's fine but you still need to pick up a pg in the portal. Q won't be ready to play until how long into the season? It's also an ACL recovery for a guy that needs to rely on lateral quickness.

7 months to be at full speed for a PG?

Sorry. Don't see it.

But would a good PG transfer be open to coming in if JQ is back?

I know I'd be in the minority, but if you give me the choice between Sears and JQ, I'd take Sears. Part of that is because of the remaining eligibility though.

September to start doing stuff. I doubt he'd be game ready until conference season.

We'd have to sign another PG, and if JQs presence on the roster is a problem then we'd have to make a tough call with JQ.

He's not going to be able to do what he does best and that's break defenders down and get to the rim.

A guy in that twitter group is pretty confident JQ returns. I will take him back.
JQ may return, but I wouldn’t put anything into what that guy says lol. I saw the post you’re talking about.

Might mean something about Sears?

nope. That’s why, imo, you gotta go your separate ways. Why would we bring in JQ for potentially one more half of a season when you could bring in someone like Sears for multiple??

Doubt it’s Sears related. He said he needed a secretary last time when Sears entered the portal and schools started reaching out. This is his second time mentioning needing a secretary…2nd player from the state of Alabama who plays somewhere else entering?

Well I can only think of 2 (Colby and Kobe) IF this is even what he’s talking about

I was thinking Kobe, but Colby actually makes way more sense I think.

Probably will be Colby Jones...a target we need to get!

JQ might want to come back just because he needs the facilities/rehab. I don’t know how you refuse him if he wants to, but it’s probably January before he could play anywhere near effectively. And does the kid from Princeton want to come if he knows Q is coming back? Sticky situation

If Quinerly comes back we'd have to get a guard from the portal who is capable of running an offense and has a good enough catch and shoot game to play off the ball. It'd also need to be someone with the size to defend multiple positions. That'd be Akot I think. Maybe Reeves.

Akot's size and versatility sounds a lot like Herb. I've got him in my top 3.

...and there's the problem and why I would rather him move on.
