Regarding the LSU players: any chance of any of these players being ruled ineligible for next season due to the allegations?

I don't think any of them were named or included in the NCAA stuff. Not that they weren't paid, but the majority of the stuff the NCAA brought up revolved around Wade's first big class in 2018 (Naz Reid, Emmitt Williams, Javonte Smart) and Watford (2019 class).

I don't think any current players are subjects of the allegations, but with the NCAA you just never know. I don't even know if I'd be comfortable bringing in a former LSU player or commit/signee if our compliance people cleared it. It's not like the NCAA is going to honor their word if they tell compliance that a player is good to go and it later comes out that they got paid.

On April 1, 2021 the list stood at 1,084 names but the morning prior to the Final Four, it stood at 1,150 names.

Agreed and to be honest, Murray would be the only one I would consider anyway. There are better options out there in my opinion.

And they all have Arkansas in their top 5.

That feels more true than it should.

We definitely need to expand our contact list or we may end up very disappointed. I hope we've reached out to more guys than the leaked list.

Per Torvik RosterCast, if we lose JQ, JD, Ellis and add Sears, Llewellyn and Bridges (and keep Shack).........

2022 Final Rankings
Overall - #31 (.8619)
Offense - #16 (115.1)
Defense - #98 (98.2)

2023 (projections are #s, rank is where that would fall in 22)
Overall - #20 (.8899)
Offense - #21 (113.5)
Defense - #40 (94.6)

I could live with the half step back on offense if the defense improves from tire fire to average.

If our defense is just average (35-50 overall) from year to year we will consistently compete for the conference championship and a good NCAA seed.

Agreed, and I think we probably have more upside on offense than this notes with the 2 freshmen who are (understandably) being regarded here as light usage guys and light minutes guys compared to what I think we'll probably actually see.

I do agree with their projections that Shack coming back is a pretty big deal. Without him we're still a Top 35 team that is more balanced than last year, but he provides something that is unproven elsewhere on the roster. The one addition who is reasonable in thinking he might come that negates him per their metrics seem to be Nijel Pack from Kansas State.

The Cambridge brothers committed to Arizona State.

Also, Mookie Cook picked Oregon over Gonzaga, meaning Gonzaga missed on two 5-star guards in the last week. They've only got one 2022 kid signed right now - a 3-star power forward. Ouch.

Isn't Jaelin being recruited as a PG option? Sears is also a PG. Not sure how we pull Jaelin, Sears with Bradley and make it work. Not to mention the lack of length if Jaelin, Sears and Shack are out there together. Jaelin and Sears do appear to be better defenders though. Just wondering how to make that work with:

Bradley
Sears
Jaelin
Shack
Burnett
Rylen

I would think Jaelin and Sears would be coming with the expectation to start.

I was under the impression Llewellyn was kind of a combo guard who could be in a dual PG lineup or play off ball, but not sure.

Either way, that would put him either behind Sears at PG or Shack/Burnett at the 2. He's not tall enough to play the 3. That would be Bridges right.

Not trying to argue or be negative, just trying to work our the roster set up with those guys. The Shack and JD deal need to be decided sooner than later but I'm afraid it will drag like last season with Shack.

Yea - I feel like they're proceeding as if JD is gone, which makes sense. Honestly, I feel like they're proceeding as if Shack is coming back, but that is purely conjecture on my part.

I agree though, with the portal and the Primo situation from last year fresh in their minds, I'd assume that they are trying to figure out returning guys ASAP - mainly JD and Shack.
