Yeah I feel bad for their fans. Any time there's a vacancy the coaching search is going to be a fiasco. He seems to have gotten really, really lucky with Beamer even though that was also a very questionable move and it's going to save him for a while even if he fricks up every other hire.

Less than a full day after Texas A&M announced the hiring of former Georgia women’s basketball head coach Joni Taylor, Georgia sophomore Sarah Ashlee Barker has announced that she intends to transfer.

Murray State hiring Steve Prohm. Love this hire for the Racers. New league, and Prohm already had success with program and knows the lay of the land.

I honestly think that win at home over a fully healthy Houston win might have been the best win of the season.

I’ve been saying this since I walked out of Coleman that night.

That Houston team was the best team we’d play all year. They were incredible to watch, we just had a couple of guys go off that night and were lucky to come away with a W.

I really wish our program could grow into the culture that Houston has developed

Fair critique of our team this year, but last year's team was the exact definition of that. I like to think that the exception was this year's team, but I guess next year will tell us more.

That’s kinda my point. Houston’s culture has essentially stayed the same regardless of what players come in and out. It’s like our football program. With the basketball team, last year had great culture but this year a lot of things just seemed off. I hope we get to the point where Alabama basketball is known for being tougher and playing harder year after year, not just certain teams every so often.

It’s crazy how many players they have that basically all do the same thing, they can run, rebound and play aggressive defense.

Many made fun of the coach in waiting stuff regarding his son but if he is just 75% of what his father is, Houston is getting a good deal.

article on best defenders in the league

quote:

Despite being a second-round pick on a team headed for the play-in tournament, New Orleans Pelicans rookie Herbert Jones might become the first rookie to make an All-Defensive team since a guy named Tim Duncan did it in 1997-98. That's incredible company, and here are some stats that explain why Jones might do it.

Ranks in the top 10 in defensive matchups vs. 2022 All-Stars this season.

Only player with 100 steals and 50 blocks this season.

Has recorded 210 deflections this season, fourth most in the NBA.

First rookie with 100 steals and 50 blocks in a season since Ben Simmons in 2017-18.

I would assume Illinois is the favorite but maybe Burnett can bend his ear to check us out.

ETA: Didn't realize he was an IMG boy as well

I was thinking more from the standpoint of Texas Tech. Wonder what the deal there is? He's a very good all around player that fits what they do and it's a team that just had a great year.

From what Tech fans have said, he's probably their most talented player but he had an up and down season this year due to injuries. Then he tried to do too much when coming back from his injury, it kinda threw the rotation off until he settled down.

I'm assuming he wants to be in the NBA soon, so he probably is looking for a system to highlight his talents. I actually do think he would be a good fit here but my main concern is he appeared to play hero ball a bit too much. That stems from him "trying to do too much at times."

Terrence Shannon Jr., who put his name in the portal less than an hour ago, has already heard from the following schools:

Illinois
Kentucky
UConn
Michigan

Another name to watch for the Fighting Illini. Originally committed to DePaul and current Illinois assistant, Tim Anderson.

I'm still going to dream.

A little luck yes, but we matched them blow for blow. Thats y when people would say this team's soft i thiught that was bs. U dont even make it a game, much less beat houston if youre not tough on some level.
