Gonzaga is 2-13 against top-four seeds in the NCAA Tournament since 2001. The two wins are #3 Utah (2016) and #4 Florida State (2019).

If Houston holds on to win tonight, we'd have fewer than two one-seeds in the Regional Finals for the first time since 2013.

And if Providence then beat Kansas tomorrow, it would be the first time the Regional Finals would have ZERO one-seeds since we went to a 64-team format.

Gonna be pulling hard for duke... k is a class act(unlike the coach he ll be facing). Those freshmen have toughened up in big spots. Duke bball is like bama football... May not be liked but u gotta respect it and k has always showed respect to saban. Also lost in all the bs about oats and K last year was the fact that nate and k have a good history between them, especially when mrs oats was going thru cancer.

Gonzaga didn't care too much for the SEC this season. The SEC accounted for Gonzaga's worst and third-worst rated performances of 2021-22.

No. 1 seeds Gonzaga and Arizona both lost today, leaving Kansas as the last 1-seed standing.

The last time two 1-seeds lost on the same day in the Sweet 16 round?

March 24, 1995 — Oklahoma State beat Tim Duncan and Wake Forest while Virginia beat Kansas.

What a day.

Jay wright is a win away from his 3rd final 4 in 6 years. What considtency man, and to think he had like a 13-18 season about 7-8 years ago. Won 2 titles with efficiency and shooting and now winning with a grind it out defense and clutch play.

I want a veteran like Herb again. We need that dog defensively who is going to fight every possession.

Kelvin Sampson did a great job this year too.
Lost two of his better players and still with a chance to go to the Final Four.

It's always funny when you go to bed, and this thread turned into a clusterfrick when you check it in the morning.

From a dude who’s pretty dang connected and a very solid source with this comment on the team on BOL.

I don't think these "connected" guys know diddly squat. Some young guy on a Bama Central video had everybody but Bediako, Burnett, and Gurley gone, and he was dead sure of it. He also listed Clowney as a transfer - and no doubt dead sure of that misinformation. How do these people know?

I really wish our program could grow into the culture that Houston has developed. Those guys are physically and mentally tough and don’t back down from anyone. With their injuries, they have no business being in the elite 8 but their culture of out working every team allows them to accomplish this. We might need to retire our hard hat blue collar stuff until we have a team worthy of it again.

Houston plays with the most consistent high level of intensity on both ends of the floor of anybody in the country. It's incredible to watch. They just refuse to be beat in any aspect of the game that you can control with effort and intensity.

Now that we've reached the end of the year and seen teams throughout, I honestly think that win at home over a fully healthy Houston win might have been the best win of the season.

Good for Frank - hope that works out.

In random Frank Martin news, I saw the UD/Jimmy Butler/Spo fight the other night and randomly thought about how Udonis Haslem is so old he played for Frank Martin..........at Miami Senior High School

I know he really just had the one fluke year there, but South Carolina firing Martin to replace him with Paris was maybe the dumbest SEC basketball move since State fired Stansfield just to replace him with Rick Ray.

Tanner is really an absolute disaster. That should be a job where you can hire a solid up and coming coach. Nice arena, solid fanbase, good recruiting, tons of money, decent history.

That hire was just a joke.
