Seems like we got our answer on the commitment for today.
From 247:
Alabama men’s basketball continued its momentous week adding another big man to the fold in the No. 1 junior college power forward prospect in the nation — Nick Pringle. The Dodge City C.C. standout chose the Crimson Tide on Thursday afternoon over Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, West Virginia, Wichita State, and Arizona State.
“It was just a great program,” Pringle told BamaOnLine. “The year they had last year was definitely a big boost for things. I see how they work with their players, their player development is one big piece, their style of play, and also their coaching staff as well. They haven’t been there that long but I’ve seen what they’ve done and the good things they’ve done with the players and stuff. It was just exciting to get to meet (Nate Oats on Zoom). He’s got a great personality. I feel like he’s a dude that really wants to win and that’s what I like to do as well.”
Pringle didn’t take an in-person visit to Tuscaloosa, but was able to connect with the staff and learn plenty about the program.
“Just their coaching staff and playing style,” he said of what won it out for UA in the end. “I like to get up and down the court. I like guarding one through five. I’m a versatile guy. I feel like I can work in the system well. This is the closest to the NBA, maybe better than some NBA styles. I feel like this is the best opportunity for me to grow as a person and player.”
Credit Alabama assistant Bryan Hodgson for the win as the area recruiter.
“He’s just motivational,” Pringle said of Hodgson. “He calls me, checks up on me and stuff. If someone is recruiting you that’s what they usually do, but I just felt a special bond with him.”
At 6-foot-9, 220 pounds, Pringle is rated the No. 1 junior college power forward and the No. 2 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite JUCO Rankings.
Pringle has three years of eligibility remaining.
The Tide now sits with four commitments in five-star point guard Jaden Bradley, five-star small forward Brandon Miller, four-star power forward Noah Clowney, and now four-star junior college forward Nick Pringle.

3 to play 2 or 3 to play 3 because of the COVID year?

Going from not playing at Wofford to having a list of high majors coveting you is a heck of a turnaround. Goodman tweeted that he’s been told folks feel he’s the best player in JUCO. Not sure what clicked for the kid but impressive stuff if it comes to fruition.

Don’t count Bama out for Walker. It could go either way. He could choose Bama, or he could choose Houston.

Bigs often take time to get their legs under them. It's not normal for people to be that size, so coordination sometimes lags behind with a lot of them. In many cases (Engstrom, Carl) it never catches up.

Has anyone seen actual stats on our 2022 commitments?

He apparently started high school as a sub-six foot guard. So, I imagine it has taken him some time to adjust.

So you're saying that he's the next Michael Jordan or Anthony Davis.

I don't think there's any doubt.

Looks like he's had a growth spurt: Jamboree Highlights
Hard to tell much except he's big and athletic. But he's big and athletic for sure.
I did laugh at the cross-court pass starting at 1:10. Looked like he was trying to kill somebody.

And I get it now. It doesn't take long to look at that guy and think he could be something in a few years.
What that something is, I don't know. He could be a monster athlete. He could also be a true Alabama big man and be completely unable to catch a basketball.
The West Virginia offer also makes sense. He looks like a guy Huggins would pluck out of JUCO.

This is pretty much the only thing that can hold back a guy who is that bouncy at that size. As long as he can simply catch the ball he should be able to produce on the glass and on pick and rolls/lobs/putbacks.

Nick Pringle can do a lot of things. He can score, dribble, and pass so just because his stats might not show you certain things just know that he can get it done if need be.

This kid could be a diamond in the rough!
