At least it happened now and not in the middle of November. All the preseason injuries are starting to get old though. Snowden needs to consult with Ballou and Rhea.

Brandon Miller was set to make his decision on September 27th but has since postponed his announcement.

Since then, Miller has added Kansas to his finalists, setting a visit to Lawrence as well as a visit to the G League Ignite facility.

So the season hasn’t even started and Rojas, Burnett, and KAH have all been injured. WTF.

And Tchikou is still not recovered over a year after the injury. Plus he will have to sit out a few games for playing in that unsanctioned charity tournament in Vegas - and our doctors had not cleared him even to practice then.

Not sure if we are still recruiting him or not. I feel like we aren't, but i'm not totally sure tbh.

Is that 5PM EST or PST?

Sorry, I was behaving like an elitist east coast snob.

You are probably right - probably is 5 PM PST. That'd be awesome.

Having woke up this morning with my dog having a seizure, before I'd even taken a piss, I was about to punch a wall. That would've been fricked up to schedule it at the same time. It would've been stupid on their part, for the ratings.

I remember ranked Cincinnati hitting a buzzer beater on us late in the first half of the 2012 SECCG. From the stadium all I could do was watch the Gamecast on my phone

College basketball: Ranking the SEC's top 10 players for 2021-22

The SEC lost quite a bit of talent from last season, including seven first-round picks in the 2021 NBA Draft as well as a handful of undrafted veterans like Player of the Year Herbert Jones, John Petty, Trendon Watford, Javonte Smart, Devontae Shuler and more. On top of that, Florida star Keyontae Johnson — the preseason Player of the Year last time around — apparently will not play.

So there is a lot of talent to replace in the league. But the SEC also brought in more than its fair share of talented recruits while raking in myriad highly regarded transfers. The experience level might take a dip in 2021-22, but the overall talent base remains strong.

Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee probably own the league's deepest and most talented rosters, but plenty of talent exists elsewhere. With SEC preseason awards set to come out before too long, here is a ranking of the conference's 10 best players heading into the 2021-22 season — note that these rankings include availability on top of pure talent level, so players entering the season with injuries get knocked down.

quote:

5. JAHVON QUINERLY, ALABAMA

Position: Guard

Class: Redshirt junior

There is not much of a gap between Quinerly and Molinar, but Quinerly gets the benefit of the doubt since he produced for one of the top teams in college basketball last season. If Alabama wants to build on its breakout 2020-21 campaign, Quinerly will need to emerge as a true go-to guy opposite Jaden Shackelford.

The Villanova transfer and former five-star recruit averaged 12.9 points per game and 3.2 assists last season after sitting out the prior year, so he should be able to crack 15 points per game even with Shackelford also scoring like crazy. Alabama is going to be a huge pain in the butt to defend between the scoring and passing ability that Quinerly and Shackelford both have.

quote:

1. JADEN SHACKELFORD, ALABAMA

Position: Guard

Class: Junior

Shackelford’s stats actually went down last season compared to his freshman campaign, but he still averaged 14.0 points per game with OK efficiency numbers. Significantly, Shackelford took a step forward defensively as Alabama made massive improvements on that end. He does not really have any glaring weaknesses, although he could stand to improve on his finishing after shooting 55.7% at the rim last season according to Hoop-Math.com.

Alabama is the reigning SEC champion and has a solid chance to repeat this season over competition from Kentucky, Arkansas and others. Shackelford has earned the No. 1 spot on this list as the top player on the league’s best team.

Jamie Shaw flipped his Jarace Walker futurecast from Houston to Alabama.

Now both FC's for Jarace are to Alabama - he has no CB predictions on 247.

That's going to turn into a Paterno situation, except Boeheim isn't close to senile yet.
