I hope Primo goes lottery.

Kira, Primo, Maybe Herb, JD.....Keon and JQ have a chance to go 1st round next year. Jaden Bradley, Jararce Walker, Brandon Miller.......we may be about to become an NBA factory.

Up front, I’ll be tracking sophomore breakout candidate Juwan Gary, who flashed considerable upside as a small-ball center during the Tide’s NCAA tournament run.

Props to this guy actually knowing some of the lesser known players on our team.

I hope so too but more likely in that 20-30 range.

Tchikou just postes a video on Instagram of him doing drills at practice with this caption.

Another interesting thing I noticed from the video is that only Bediako, Tchikou, Gurley, and KAH were doing drills with the bigs.

I'm assuming that means they're trying to develop Gary enough to have him play more of a wing spot. With his hustle and defensive toughness, he could be an awesome defensive wing stopper if he can ever develop his 3-pt game enough to keep teams honest.

Never eaten at Texas Roadhouse so not sure. I like Firebird's, but it's nothing all that special.

Helen is fantastic, but pricey.

Gary isnt a big, he played the 5 last year when Reese, Bruner, and Rojas were all out/hurt, out of necessity, Herb played there a little bit too.

He is only 6'6, I think he will play the 4 mostly.

Yeah, no doubt.

I wonder if season ticket prices will go up after the big season last year? Should get those emails next week or so.

Yeah, 65 dollars for a Ribeye, that's about the same as Flemings and Ruths Chris. Might go there for a special occasion but just looking for somewhere to eat before a concert, nothing special. We will probably go to Firebirds, it has good reviews and looks good.

Say we have a 9 man rotation, Oats said he doesnt like to have more than that, it may even be cut down to 8 by the middle of the season, who do you guys put in the top 9 players?

INPO I'd go

Quinerly
Davison
Shack
Ellis
Burnett
Gary
Gurley
Tchikou
Bediako

No Darius Miles?

If Gary, Gurley, and Tchikou are all healthy, we dont need a 4th big getting a lot of minutes. Miles has much more versatility, so i think he has a better chance to earn minutes.

I consider Gary a Small Forward, I dont consider him a big. Gurley will play mostly the 4 if Tchikou is healthy. he played the 4 at Furman. I could see him playing the 5 when we go to a fast smaller lineup.

Bediako is for sure gonna be in the rotation imo.

I thought Miles would get a lot of PT til Shack came back, now idk.

That's probably what I would go with too.

Miles would make a lot of sense as a wing with size, but I think it could just as easily be Holt.

On the other hand, I don't think Gary is a 3 for us. At least not at this point. He'd have to improve his shooting and ball handling pretty substantially for that.

I agree. He needs to trim down and work on his quickness to be a true SF.

I didnt say he would play small forward, for us, I meant with his body type I consider him a small forward, not a big, he isn't practicing with the bigs. I think he plays mainly the 4 for us, but our system isnt exactly traditional, Keon Ellis played the 4 a lot last year and he for sure isn't a big or a PF.

I'm probably one of Gary's biggest fans on this board, but I just think for now he's best suited for the 4 (or even very small ball 5 in some certain circumstances).

He rebounds on both ends, runs the court, protects the rim, you can switch him on defense, etc. That's what he's good at, and he's really good at it.

But right now I don't see that he's shown the ability to shoot, pass, and handle like we want a true wing to.

Ah ok, nevermind

Even if he comes out next year and shoots 35% from 3, I'm still not sure I'd want him at the 3 regularly.

I remember watching this highlight video a bunch before that awful UCLA game: LINK

The most entertaining minute of Alabama basketball in years. And the more you watch it the more Gary is just everywhere. Blocking shots, getting offensive rebounds, etc.

Yeah I dont think Gary will play the 3 any, I think he is probably the backup at the 4 and can play the 5 vs a smaller lineup if we need him to, because of injuries or whatever.
