Lunardi now has us at a 4 seed, had us at a 2 seed before we lost Primo and Shack.
Bracketology
So 3-5 seed- ranked somewhere 15 to 20 seems to be the preseason consensus for us currently.

Yeah, you got me. Hang the banners. "Joe Lunardi 3-5 seed on 7/13/21"

No need to be salty. The offseason is a marathon not a sprint.

New around here, huh. We don’t hang any banners except for National Championships. No SEC Regular Seasons Champs. No SEC Tourney Champs. ONLY NCAA TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS BANNERS!!! Am I doing this right, saban n bear?

RTR
The only thing that would make me salty about this team would be Tchikou not being available this season or Oats not being able to fill an open roster spot with a quality player.
These are good times for Bama basketball. We got rich man problems.
Eta: i still remember two years ago being salty the whole season bc JQ didnt get his waiver. That was some bullshite.

100% agree with all of that.

Even if we win a national championship I'd be hesitant to hang a banner if the margin of victory is less than 10. If you play like shite you don't deserve a banner.

Sneak into tournament, maybe win 1 game
Could be we barely get in, but only because the SEC is loaded. We likely will not go 16 and 2 like last year, and we will miss last year's senior leadership. But we really do have a loaded roster, really one of the best ever. We are still capable of winning the conference, and our seriously tough out of congerence schedule will give us a high NET rating going into conference play. I'm pumped about the season and ready to pack Coleman.

My only concern when talk about ceiling and expectations is the brutal schedule. Yes there’s talent but they’ve never played together.
That didn't really hurt Arkansas last year. They had literally zero returning players.
It's not going to be a simple year. But as others mentioned, losing to elite teams OoC means almost nothing. Winning some helps tremendously, and it gets the teams accustomed to play against his game. That's priceless experience before entering a tournament. Because in the end, that's what it's about.

True, and teams like Duke, Kentucky, UNC ect usually 4 or 5 new starters every year every year.

Here's a cool random quote I found from Tuscaloosa News, looking for something else...
I'd been wondering who his father was. I knew he played around then. But his dad was a walk-on. Walk-ons (especially preSaban) aren't casual fans of a team or randoms thinking they could work their way into a scholarship at Bama. They're pretty much always diehard fans that would rather play at their favorite school then play d2 ball. His dad didn't just play football at Bama, he fricking paid money to play football with Bama, and help train the team up. They guy is probably a super fan. I bet there's Bama stuff all over his house.
Now, it sounds like he's not forcing his son to play somewhere. But there's no doubt that works to our advantage. Especially with us having a great coach with a style that would compliment his strengths.

EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this story misidentified the father of basketball prospect Brandon Miller. His father is Darrell Miller, a walk-on football player on Alabama’s 1991 team.

Why would you hang anything on a season that you witnessed another team lift the Natty? Loser mentality

This is not a loser mentality:

By your criteria, UCLA is the only program in the entire country that doesn't have a loser mentality.
Even Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Indiana, and Kansas all have banners for stuff other than national championships.
Just another hilariously bad take from the shittiest poster on the board.
