JD isn’t coming off the bench. And I don’t think you can expect Tchikou to start coming off that injury. I think either Shack or Primo is coming off the bench. Should be Shack based off this years performance but Oats, at least so far, seems to favor upperclassmen. My prediction for starting five at the beginning of the year:

Gary

Oats ain’t starting JD, Shack, and JQ. That’s too small

Tchikou could easily be the starter, but that injury was, by all accounts, a huge deal. Give a slight edge to Wilson early on because of that.

I don’t know what to do with the perimeter. We have, on paper, 5 guys that could start for most teams. We have a few guys (including JQ) that would start for pretty much every team.

JQ seeming to like coming off the bench makes things a bit easier.

Obviously that bench is going to look substantially different before too long.

Barring any transfers or guys staying in the draft,

Not going to lie, guys. I'm a little concerned about losing Oats. He's perfect for what they're used to and with his system at UNC, he'd be able to have his choice of 5-stars every year.

I'm sure the concern is probably just the deep scarring I have from Alabama basketball, but how "Alabama Basketball" would it be to lose Oats after one year of success and in a year where he could take any player of ours that he wanted with him?

I know that the time will come, but PLEASE can we at least have next year...

I think a school would be stupid to pay Alabama $12 million to hire Oats after one really solid season at the high major level. I just can’t see any school justifying doing that.
