Interesting that the 3 choices other than @AlabamaMBB all played at a tempo in the 200’s per @kenpomeroy which makes me wonder if he wants to play some point guard and give himself better pro options. Also, a Shackelford-for-Burnett trade would be quite the talking point.
Yeah, when he initially put his name in the portal I thought it was to go to more of an ISO-offense. His hope for the NBA is being a crutch in a slowed down offense. When you look back to the Grant years, we always seemed to have one guy take over the scoring load and if he can be that guy and showcase an improved handle and passing ability, it's possible he might get some looks as a Lou Williams type of off-the-bench scoring guard.
Another thing he probably wants to showcase more is his midrange game, which was a go-to for him in highschool. Given slower tempo teams are more prone to taking more midrange shots, his list makes a lot of sense.
Glad he's still considering a return though with that list of schools, I wouldn't bet on it.

Rojas is a super senior so we have two spots.

Only place i've seen that posted is in this thread. Cecil says we have one spot.

I doubt that is the case. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have ran off Langston Wilson if that were true.

The reason I think we have 2 is because Nate is adamant about rushing Rojas back for SEC play. If he was on the 13 then he would just sit Rojas this year and play him next year.

We thought we were gonna have Primo and Shack when that happened

Interesting that the three teams on Shack's list are also on Cedric Russell's list.

I asked Charlie Potter and this is what he said

Why arr players wanting to go to a slow system? What year is it? Did they not see what the warriors did years ago? That shite has changed the game.

canada plays spain tomorrow. spains really good. slick guards and great shooting. its a game where canadas bigfoot could possibly struggle some, so maybe bediako can get more time. should be a fun one.

So I’ve been doing some digging and Ohio State fans on their 247 board say they are getting Cedric Russell. So I guess it’s between Oklahoma, TTU, and us for Shack.

Shack can't play PG in an up tempo offense. He can probably barely play it in a slow, half court oriented offense. I'd imagine his NBA feedback amounted to "you're too small to play off the ball, and we haven't seen any indication that you're a good enough ball handler to play PG". He's obviously not going to grow, so that just leaves the one option.

Not necessarily. 2 of those schools have a new coach.

Adams was an in house hire at Texas Tech who will run the same stuff (he was the defensive guru).
Moser's teams at Loyola were amongst the slowest tempo teams in the country. #342, 311, 346, 307, 287, 316, 315, 305, 284, 336 in his 10 years there. So Oklahoma will actually play slower tempo than they did under Kruger.

I actually just went to Ken pom, and saw Loyola's tempo. You beat me to my edit. They're definitely gonna play slow.

Yea I thought they were slower, but couldn't remember for sure. I did not realize they were THAT slow.
I do think the most likely scenario is what Robot said - NBA feedback was that his only chance to stick in the NBA was to be able to run the point.

I'm not going to fault the guy for doing everything he can to try and make it to the NBA since that is obviously every basketball player's dream, but it's just not going to happen. He's a good college player and will be able to make a comfortable living playing in Europe or Australia or somewhere similar. Especially if he improves his outside shooting a bit to the point that he's more of a 38-40% guy than a 35-36% guy. I just worry that he's going to end up shooting himself in the foot if his goal is to be responsible for running an offense based on NBA feedback. That's just not his game and if he tries to do it in the Big 12, even at a snail's pace, it'll likely be a disaster. It takes all the concentration and effort he can muster just to drive to the basket and get a shot off in a typical half court set.
Setting aside as much bias as I can, his best bet at a lucrative professional career is coming back here and trying to be what Petty was the last two years for the next year or two. That's obviously not what he wants though.

Canada beat Spain by 4. I think that will put them in the finals aginat USA.
I cant ever find the box score but the big center that plays over Bediako had a double double and Caleb Houstan had 25. I'll keep looking for news on Bediako.

Bediako had 6 points (2 for 4) and 6 rebounds in 15 minutes. Zach Edey is the big guy from Purdue, played 25 minutes and had 24 points. Caleb Houston, as you say, 25. I had a hard time finding the stats. Try "fiba" as key search item, with Canada vs Spain. Next game is likely against USA.

Makes sense. Purdue always has a good Center.

That's not bad. But it doesn't do anything to convince me that Bediako is ready for a big role next season.
