Keep the faith. Most really good players in the portal did find teams early - like Burnett and Gurley who signed with us, but there are several really good combo or point guards who entered the portal recently, and I have no doubt Oats will fill the spot we have with a really good player. It seems Shack really surprised him, but Oats had already overbooked by one when he signed Gurley, so he knows how to play this recruiting game. Wonder if a target for next year might reclassify?

He could recruit, for sure. But I was more referring to increasing Bama's national prominence. He got a 5 star and some very highly regarded players. But lately, every elite recruit seen to mention is on at least their top 10. That'll have an effect on younger recruits in future classes.

I know college basketball writers are really lacking the content and clicks right now but it seems kinda crazy to knock Bama down as much as some have already.
Primo was a good player last year and has sky-high potential but he wasn't the main guy and is going to be drafted in the 1st based on what he could be in a couple more years.
For Shack, I get the reaction because he was our leading scorer but there's more than enough talent to replace his minutes and production and we don't even know who we're using the last roster spot on. I think we've already contacted Obanor so replacing him with Shack is an actual upgrade.

You might be talking about other polls or other writers, but I’m a little surprised that Gary Parrish only dropped us from 5 to 15. We lost two of our best players in one day.
I still think we’re going to be really good, and I also assume we’ll add another shooter, but for now 15 seems more than fair.

We dropped to 17th in Jon Rothsteins rankings. It's mainly Bama fans that have dropped us way down, some seem to think we aren't even gonna make the tournament now.

I haven’t even given the Shack news much thought tbh. Other years I’d worry. With the coaching staff and roster we have coming in, we will be fine. Plus I fully expect us to add someone good from the portal.
