Bol Bowen just finished a visit to SMU. Will visit KY today and Bama tomorrow. It’s fluid.

Bama is in good position with Chest.

Door isn’t totally shut on Philon returning. Probably declaring with the option to withdraw.

That’s pretty much it.

Also, Bama is in top 4 for Lendeborg with KY, Barn, and Michigan

He's a first round pick in this class for me. He would easily be our best portal addition since Sears if we could pull it off. Having said that, Auburn with Broome's success will likely be more appealing considering they can sell NPOY and having the lead role in their offense.

Yaxel is more of a fit for us than the barn. I went to UAB games this year and he’s honestly more of a point forward than power forward. He can handle the ball but also he can bang with bigs down low. He’d be an immediate upgrade over Stevenson.

Williamson is Grant Nelson with better offensive tools. I think Sherrell will be fine. we do need one more big.

A UCLA center hit the portal rather unexpectedly recently. He’s 7’3” and sounds like he has most of the tools for an Oats big man. Anyone heard if we are reaching out to him?

Lendeborg though would not be mainly an inside guy like Broome. He would play a stretch 4 or 3 spot. He is a really good player.

I don't think he's a better fit at Auburn, I just think it's way easier for Auburn to sell. Our offense has been mostly dominated through guard play and Auburn is coming off a season where they had a NPOY candidate playing the same position he does.

I would love for nate to go get whoever is evaluating Florida's bigs. They seem to have bigs that would fit our system perfectly. Not sure why Nate hasn't gone to more of a Euro Big.

Broome actually averaged more threes per game in both of his last two seasons than Lendeborg did last season. Not saying he can't stretch a defense, but it's not where he is best. I do however think he could be really fun to run a lot of our offense through given how gifted of a passer he is for a big.

Technically he just did.

I do think we have gotten a few bigs similar to what Florida has in terms of size and play style. Nelson, Stevenson, and Clowney all fit that mold somewhere between Condon and Haugh, while Cliff and Bediako fit the Chinyelu and Handlogten archetype. The major difference is our bigs have struggled to have a consistent role in the offense. Whether it's shooting struggles or a lack of confidence (Stevenson and Nelson to certain extent), being too passive (Nelson) or guards struggling to consistently incorporate them into the flow of the offense (you could argue all three here), we just weren't consistent in getting them involved in the offense the same way Florida does. It also helps UF that both Condon and Haugh are excellent positional passers.

Wonder who A&M goes after? Beard or the Texas Tech probably makes the most sense

Lendeborg and Williamson seem like they’re made for this offense. I see Lendeborg more as a big wing/stretch 4 too. He’s got more of a face up game but seems like he can finish through contact and above the rim rather than trying to make layups. He also seems like he could be a good defender who could handle some cross match ups on guards if he gets isolated.

Beard was my first thought too. They could land a top notch coach and give him more money and probably better support and facilities than Mississippi. The bonus is the big F U it sends to Texas.
The Tech guy can obviously coach, but there’s something about him that just doesn’t feel like a good fit at A&M. Maybe it’s just me, but my first phone call would be to Oxford.

Yes. Good point BigBird. Broome is a post player who can drain threes. I was thinking more of Lendeborg playing mainly on the wing than inside like Broome.

Even if YL commits somewhere, he's still going to go through the NBA draft process. So essentially it would be May before you would know if he will be playing out his SR year.

This isn't as big of a deal considering the new 15 scholarship limit.

We have to hit some home runs in the portal this year. Lendeborg would be a big one, not sure where we are on his list, but he seems like a brinks truck guy. I am not quite as high on Williamson as others, looks very much like a finesse center to me when watching his reels and we desperately need to be tough in the middle, but 7 feet is 7 feet and he certainly can't hurt as a rotation guy.
