Better than Brandon Miller? I assume this guy is a for sure one and done lottery pick.

Supposedly would've been the #1 pick in last year's, this year's, and the 26 draft. That was in an article anonymously quoting NBA scouts.

I watched him in the Nike showcase this summer playing against Flagg and he was clearly better than Flagg. This would be as close to having a rookie LeBron on your team as it gets.

Not that it matters, but Tennessee being ranked #1 is kind of a joke. They're undefeated, but on the 189th ranked SOS. UC Irvine is 9-0 with a better SOS and wasn't one of the 47 teams to receive a vote in the AP rankings.

id have them as the 5th or 6th best sec team right now. chaz would need to show he can do what hes doing against some real D for me to change that opinion.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we were used to try to squeeze more money out of BYU. And we're the perfect bait for him to use with AJ. We've got it all; on court success, draft success, desirable system, and personal existing connections. He starts showing up to our games right around the time he's gonna commit, and he's got them hook, line, and sinker.

Everybody knows BYU is desperate to get talent, and can afford it. You can always squeeze some more juice from a rich, desperate sucker. Considering his dad got him partial ownership in a prep school along with a bag to one season of high school ball, that seems like a dude that knows how to negotiate.

If this trend of pay for play continues some of these players will be making more than first round money in college.
Some such players will also fall by the wayside because of the lure of high living and loads of easy money.

He's a sf, and we got two already at that position. Who else we are in on?

Aren't Mo D, Derrion, and Naas all SF? And it doesn't matter. He'd start over all of them today. I'm not usually a bidding war type. I usually stand on let's make our offer and our pitch and if they choose to take a bigger bag so be it. But for him? I'd offer as much as we are able to. He's that good.

Mo D is most definitely not a SF on this roster. Strictly a 4/5 for us. Naas I think is a wing and Derrion a 3/4.

Yes he would.

Also for those discouraged by Branham's CB, when he removed the CB I'm pretty sure he was just protecting his prediction score from a surprise announcement. It was known he'd be announcing soon and he didn't want it to pop up on him before he has the chance to change it. Now with the commitment time set in stone, he doesn't have to worry about that. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure those guys can change it at any point before the announcement (which is a little dumb tbh)

I've definitely seen Mo play 3, if you want to get precise about positions. Him with Cliff and either Grant or Stevenson have definitely been lineups. Kenpom says he plays the 3 9% of the game, and Stevenson at the 3 7% of the game.

It just depends on if we wanna go big or small, or if there's someone in particular he wants Mo to defend.

We've got all kinds of crazy, fricked up wrinkles we can throw at teams.

The one I'm hoping to see is Philon at 1, Reid at the 2 (he's already defended elite guards), Stevenson at 3, Nelson at 4, and Cliff at 5. We'd have 3 guys 6'10+, 6'8", and 6'4. That would put our average height at almost 6'9", and they're all athletic as hell. That would gives teams would. With Stevenson starting to get his shooting together, it could actually happen.

And Branham apparently said he still isn't really certain. And is just kind of going with his best guess.

BYU's NIL package they're offering Dybantsa is reportedly WAY more than what BAMA is offering.

It's really down to perception of positions, I guess. In the 3-big line-ups we've ran, Mo seems to run the 4/5 more often than Stevenson/Nelson in those scenarios, but it's kind of hard to distinguish with all the movement our bigs tend to have in the offense. My main point is that Mo shouldn't be considered a 3 for us in terms of building for the future, even if we occasionally put him there.

It's really less a matter of the positions being 1-5, like it is traditionally. We really have ball handlers, wings (big or little), and a big. The 1-5 really only comes in to play on defense. Offensively we play positionless basketball (except Cliff).

Sounds like AJ going to BYU, we are not close to their nil offer at this time

According to Trilly neither of the staffs had any clue as of late last night.

This one feels like BYU to me based on the circus surrounding this thing and the ridiculous numbers being tossed around, but I'm hoping it's Bama because this dude is good enough to warrant a circus.

Look, if you're AJ, next season is a mere pit stop on the way to a guaranteed top 5 (likely top 1) pick. Development is going to be lower on the priority list than money. The opposite is true for guys in the 20-50 range.
