Grant was forced to play out of position so much last year. He’s truly a 4 and I believe we saw that during the tournament.

His best play was at the 5 versus Bacot.

Also bowed up really nicely on Tolu Smith

The option to have him at 4 is what is so valuable

Right, but what that guy said is still obviously true.

Not sure why that’s obvious. Most of his production during the tournament came when he was playing the 5. His best two games were against UConn and UNC when Pringle and Wague combined for less than 20 MP.

Arkansas has faced TCU 143 times in regular-season games and owns a 105-38 advantage in the series

Perkins has a nice interview about how crappy aau is and I don't disagree with him.

Having kids playing 6+ games in a weekend.

Guess your view of the role of a 5 and 4 is much different than mine.
But all good.

Not just yours, but also all of our players and coaches and also all scouts and analytics and journalists and...what were we talking about again?

Nelson struggled mightily playing the 5 for a lot of the season. It's a big reason the team struggled on defense so much throughout the year obviously.

In the games I watched, I thought nelson looked more comfortable and played better at the 4.

Granted, My sample size is small.

Nelson showing he was obviously a 4 during the tournament. When everything actually pointed in the other direction.

Nelson against COC, Grand Canyon, and Clemson (Wague and Pringle > 20 MP): 5/3/1 in 18 MPG

Nelson against UNC and UConn (Wague and Pringle < 20 MP): 22/13/1 in 33 MPG

Yes really. It’s blatantly obvious that he was more effective at the 5 during the tournament because of extra spacing.

Having an actual good player at the 5 is going to open up so much for Nelson. Obviously he stepped up in the tournament but I’m glad we won’t have to see him run down during the regular season, especially with so much depth.

hogs lose 66-65 to TCU.

I'm warming up to the 4 quarters in basketball.

The foul reset is nice after each quarter. No more ft shooting contests.

Nice. I didnt realize they finally changed it. Wonder how that will effrct teams like Tennessee. I know they dont get foul calls at home, but maybe on the road.

they didn't. It's only for these exhibitions/scrimmages. it's still gonna be 20-minute halves in the regular season.

Well shite.

Im just ready for the season to start so i can start bumping some of these player rankings yall have made in the last week.

And with the season about to start, i challenge all our basketball fans to learn more about the program and just basketball in general. Dont start freaking out if we lose a game.
