How many of those 14 misses were the front end of 1 and 1's? The reason I ask is this. When I coached basketball, I always counted that front end miss as two misses. You are eliminating a chance at a make on the back end because of a lack of concentration. To me, it's just like a lane violation, you're punishing your team.

Still a great year, much better than what I anticipated and it feels great to be talking about basketball this late into The Madness and it actually be "your team"!!

As for UCLA, those guys are hotter than a firecracker and have chosen the best time to get that way. To me, they were likely a 5-6 seed team rather than an 11.

He won’t. In today’s woke culture there is no chance Oats will win against Howard.

I will be keeping the transfer portal targets updated in this post on the first page as a reference.

I want to say it was 4 or 5. I know Herb, JQ, and Petty all missed the front end, all in the first half. I think Gary did in the 2nd half, and maybe Herb did again.

I'm also going to be working on all of our 2022 recruiting targets in another post on page one. My goal is to hopefully get the old recruiting thread that is stickied anchored so that that this thread will be the hub for any and all basketball related info and carry us through he entire offseason.

Everything doesn't have to be about race and you being a victim.

Maybe... just maybe Howard will win because the media loves Michigan (especially in basketball), have favored the B1G all season long (gave them NINE tourney spots) and refuses to embrace the fact the south besides Kentucky, NC and Duke are anything but Football schools.

Yea I don't think Howard winning will have diddly shite to do with race and I'm sick of reading about wokeness or freedom or racism or anti-racism as a reason for every damn thing that happens.

Again, see above. We lost because we stunk from the FT line. No one to blame but ourselves.

Sure. But you also have a lot more room for error if you're not playing one of the best/hottest teams in the country.

Sure, Bama has only themselves to blame for the loss. But getting lucky and having that performance against a UCLA team that was playing like the play in team they were a month ago would have been nice. Instead, we got Final Four UCLA for our stinker performance.

Yea, but on the flip side we'd just have gotten a different solid team instead of UCLA if they weren't playing well. It's the Sweet 16, everyone there is either hot or good or both.

We had a shot, we kind of blew it.

Yeah we did blow it. I may be in the minority on this though, but i had an uneasy feeling in my stomach when UCLA was hitting 3's all night when we had a defender in their face. I mean these were contested and couldn't have been defended any better and it was as if the UCLA player just threw the ball up hoping it would get close.

Well, that's like saying all sweet 16 teams are equal and don't have up and down games. "No matter what, every sweet 16 team is going to be and play x amount good."

That's just not true. Yes, Bama is to blame for losing, but it's also ok to admit we could have still gotten lucky and won.

I'm not making excuses. We lost, and deserved to lose. But, it's not like UCLA couldn't have played a little worse.

I agree with you 100%. I just wish that the sports media members who vote for COTY felt the same.

11/23 in regulation.

If we go 12/23 we win.

I love Oats he is an amazing coach...but I will never understand why he put the ball in Herbs hands over JQ on that last possession.
