Miss St should be a tournament team this year after adding Garrison Brooks and DJ Jeffries. They already had a really good returning core in Molinar, Stewart, and Tolu Smith.

Oats said they are hopeful he gets cleared when they return from the break between this semester and the summer term. They aren't really doing anything right now. The offseason program begins in the summer. If he's able to fully participate in that he will be fine by November.

Yep. It's been a very long time since I've been this excited about basketball during the off-season.

yep, assuming stewart returns thats an easy top 20 team on paper. savvy vets with bruisers and a pro level backcourt. biggest possible flaws with their speed and depth perhaps. the sec in general should be hella fun next season, to say the least. i mean, seasons ages away and i dont care about this anyway but who knows, maybe the top sec team should even get a 1 seed next go around but, you know, its whatever......roll tide.

Looks like Jordan Lewis is transferring from the women's team. She scored 32 against UNC in the opening round.

Curry's squad is going to be awful next year. It's arguably the toughest program to coach at Alabama, but I think Byrne can get a better HC if he wants to go in a different direction*.

*After next season

Yea I saw that on Twitter . Hope these transfers and signees can come in ready. Was surprised Copeland left too. This portal is just crazy. Seems like nobody is satisfied where they signed

No demographic embodies the grass is greener on the other side mindset more than 16-24 year olds. I don't even necessarily mean that as a criticism. It's just that despite being old enough to make a lot of their own decisions, most people that age don't have enough maturity or life experience to know the difference between typical work/school/relationship bullshite and an actually toxic situation. They still think the world is all sunshine and flowers.

plus, theres no telling who all they have whispering in their ears telling them they're the star and should be treated as such.

Sahvir Wheeler (UGA) is entering the portal (also the draft, but maintaining his eligibility). Very tough player. In most years, I’d be desperate for him to come to Bama... but we’ve got nowhere to put him

What I find so mysterious about that is LSU had a worse record than Bama (9-13, 6-8 SEC) so it’s somewhat of a head scratcher that she didn’t seem to make a move that put her in a better position for a championship. On the surface, it looks like she just wanted out. Or perhaps she got a strong a$$ offer...

Her boyfriend is Eddie Smith who played Football here but transferred to Illinois. Bet she tries to go there

A sort of curious new 2022 NBA mock draft from ESPN (plus):

LINK

Relevant (SEC) guys:

5. Jabari Smith (Auburn)
10. Kennedy Chandler (Tennessee)
17. Allen Flannigan (Auburn)
28. Josiah James (Tennessee)
40. Jahvon Quinerly
56. Keon Ellis

I scanned for Davison like several times and couldn't find anything. Is it an oversight? Who knows.

I also did several double takes on Josiah James at 28. I like him, but boy that seems high.

Not that any of this really matters, obviously.

I’ve never viewed JD as a One and Done. I’ve always thought 2 years and lottery pick for him

It is a bit of an outlier. As far as I can tell, every other top 10 recruit is in the mock draft outside of the Sallis kid for Gonzaga.

But obviously not an extreme outlier, since there is another example.

I think it is a little curious though. Is there a clear reason a guy like Chandler (the #2 ranked PG prospect) is a lottery pick? Maybe it's the situation - Davison is walking into a fairly loaded group of perimeter players while Chandler isn't.

Also notable (I guess) is no Primo. I don't think that's overly curious though. He needs to become a guy that can pretty consistently get to the basket and score to be an elite prospect.

Clearly a slow day at work for me.

Sahvir will make somebody very happy if he does go thru with a transfer. Guy can ball.

I'd bet my life savings on him being a one and done. Incredibly athletic scorer with great passing instincts? He could have an underwhelming year and still be a lottery pick...

Yeah practically every player comp I have seen for him is either Ja Morant or Russell Westbrook. Most NBA teams are going to be more than willing to draft a guy like that even if they go into it knowing it'll take him a year or two to develop.

Damn. I guess it's not surprising. But that kinda hype makes me nervous. But look how long it took Scott Drew to win a title at Baylor. Mark Few, Mick Cronin, and Bob Huggins still haven't won national titles. There's several hall of fame coaches without any rings. So I'm trying to taper my expectations. But damn, I'd love to see Bama in the Final Four.

The pieces are all there, but I'm going to need to see some proof of concept before getting that hyped. I think we will have a really good team, but there's a lot of question marks we need favorable answers to before I'm comfortable saying we are one of the best 4 teams in the country.
