State's Recent SEC Road Losses
@ Kentucky - 8 (OT)
@ Arkansas - 8
@ LSU - 4
@ Alabama - 5

All of those games they were either tied or leading with like 2 minutes left, too.

They always collapse late too. This was a typical State and Bama game.

Very poor shooting night, but he chipped in eight rebounds and four assists. He was loafing a good bit though, especially after Nate was ejected.

Eye test and all that doesn’t matter anymore. Just win and that’s what we did. I’m gonna enjoy each one no matter how terrible the ride was to get there.

I thought Nate’s technicals early in the year were inexcusably bad. They were just hurting the team.

I didn’t really blame him for the first one tonight. Seemed like an obvious foul and an easy one to see.

He’s gotta quiet down after that, although I’m still not sure what the second one was for. Looked like he was saying “do it” to the ref - daring him to toss him. If that was it, it’s silly on his part, but it’s also a bit of a ref show to toss a guy for that (if that’s what it was).

Positives
- Bediako looks like a light switch came on. Don't know if it was less minutes, doing more comfortable stuff, what.....but he looks comfortable and is playing without thinking
- Miles gave great mintues again. He isn't elite at anything yet but he's positive at a whole lot of stuff
- JQ started looking like his old self a little
- JD looked comfortable again, played aggressive
- Defense wasn't elite, but it was competitive. Since the Georgia game we've been much better defensively. Not great, but good enough to win with good offense.

Negatives
- Shack's shooting was terrible, but that's just gonna happen some
- Ellis just looks lost. He has gotten worse and worse the last 3 weeks. We need him to figure it out, because it's seeping into the rest of his game.
- We just refuse to put people away - early, middle, late, doesn't matter. The late game inbound stuff was awful.

All in all, wins are what matter now. 3 straight wins from @ OM, Ark, State is a fantastic stretch.

State is one of those teams that clearly has the talent but I guess the coaching isn't there.

It's hard to figure out too because they have a guy who you'd think would be a really good game closer in Molinar, plus a couple of guys who are really good set shooter or cutter and score when Molinar beats a guy off the dribble guys (Brooks, Jeffries, Tolu).

They just don't have it.

Yeah, that was nice. Hope our defense is up for the challenge when we go to Nashville

I’m not sure any of them have plans or roles. I sure as heck didn’t understand their roles watching the game.

If they show up in Nashville, we better just cancel the season

I think the lack of a true point hurts. They probably thought they were getting that a little bit in Rocket but that hasn't been the case.

They also seem to lack leadership on the court because they like to panic or play right into the opponents style when it gets tight in the final mins.

That is going to be an really tough trip, I think. Vandy is playing good basketball right now. Since Chatman has been back they've been solid, and we know how tough it is to go up there.

I think you are both dead on. Seems to have been a problem Howland's whole tenure.

He's made them respectable again, but it definitely feels like it's time to hand off the baton.

Winning the games you’re supposed to win is a lot harder in basketball than football. Still surprised UNC is down 20 to a 10-16 Pitt team at Chapel Hill.

Anytime you win 3 in a row, it’s a good stretch, regardless of how it looks.
