You find it hard to be invested in Alabama basketball now that we are a good program? Ok

So Pett wasn’t at the game last night...didn’t watch but last 15 or so minutes but do y’all think that effected our offense?

Didn’t realize he wasn’t there. Could have been a factor, I suppose, but I saw a lot of the same issues that have come up over the last few games on offense. I think it’s more likely that we’re still working through those issues. We looked a little better in the second half, but we’re going to see much better competition than JSU soon.

It would be cool if the fogs didn't even try to pay attention to basketball, when all they know is the ball goes into the hoop. For people who actually like to watch or play basketball, it's never been more enjoyable to follow Bama basketball. Definitely not in the last 3 decades. And we're only getting better recruits that fit oats' system. So it's only getting more exciting.
Go to a place like reddit's college basketball sub. It's a good cross section of college fans from all over the country. Bama has never had more respect nationally. They think it's unfair we've become so good in both sports. If that's hard to get into, just don't bother with basketball.

Lol so you only find enjoyment when we are dominant and winning?
Not the best look.

Perhaps the better question might be why was Pett not there. Illness? Talking to someone? Any thoughts or info?

LSU and Auburn have really played no one.
LA Tech and UCONN (respectfully since they are ranked) are their best games.
After that its been literally cake walk games for them, but I guess with 2 losses and one being to a struggling memphis team it makes sense

They've both played a bunch of solid teams, just no top level teams.
Auburn has played Loyola, Syracuse, St Louis, UCF, Saint Louis.
LSU has played Belmont, Penn State, Wake Forest, Ohio, Georgia Tech, La Tech.

You’re not wrong in that they haven’t just played Dll cupcakes every game, but in my opinion its more solid brand named teams but not really solid teams.
Penn State lost by 30 to Umass and is .500
St Louis is without their best player since the beginning of the season
Syracuse lost to Colgate by 15 at home and is .500
Georgia Tech is 5-5 and got blown out by LSU while being up 15 late in the first half. Also having lost to Miami Ohio
Wake Forest is 11-1 but hasn’t played anybody really with a pulse outside of bad Northwestern and a very inconsistent VT, and needed a buzzer beater to beat a .500 Charlotte team
The rest are solid like you said, but to me they have more paper tiger resumes than what the resume actually is.

I know I posted something positive about AU a few days ago, but when we start giving them 2 wins for 1 game the barn love has gone too far!! (Just kidding SOG)

At the start of the post game press conference Coach Oats said Pettway was dealing with a ‘medical issue’ and would likely be back Tuesday and if not, definitely by the 29th.

Who called the offense on Saturday? Did Oats just do it himself?

I understand Davidson hasn't played a tough schedule but they are 8-2 having won 7 in a row. They have a few guys that can fill it up too; so, we need to be ready to play.
We don't need to show up like we did against Jacksonville St. Hopefully, Shack will do something this game and JD will be physically ready to go. I wouldn't expect a lot from the crowd. Not sure it will be very big right before Christmas.

- We play fast, they play slow
- They are not an offensive rebounding team at all, once of the worst in the country (which makes sense given their style and personnel). So that's a good sign for us amid our issues.
- Typical Davidson team - great 3PT shooting team, don't turn it over, don't get to the foul line much, athletically limited
In theory should be a pretty good matchup for us - we've beaten these types of mid-majors pretty badly the past few years (South Dakota State in 2022, Furman in 2021/2020, Samford in 2020, Belmont in 2020, Richmond in 2020, even Liberty in 2019). I don't think they'll be able to control tempo like Iona, USA and Jax State were simply because those teams did it with athleticism and physicalness - controlling the tempo on the defensive end. Davidson controls tempo mainly on the offensive end. I'd be surprised if they have much ability to guard us.
However, if we durp around and don't shoot well while they do, we could look up and be down 14 in a hurry.

I think these are interesting and we are far enough into the season when you can really start to see a team's profile shaping up.
These are the most similar teams since 2008 to our Adjusted Offensive, Adjusted Defensive and Adjusted Tempo stats (adjusted just means opponent adjusted so it's basically adjusted for opponent strength).
Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with resume (who we beat, who we lost to) and everything to do with "how" we play and which teams best compare to that.

Some of our defensive numbers....woof
Fortunately they are not a good offensive rebounding team
