Right. The team, as it has performed thus far, looks like it's a tournament team. Just not the Final Four type team we had hoped for. There's some stuff to be optimistic about and some stuff to be concerned about. They can obviously still clean up some of the glaring issues (FT shooting, turnovers, Shack taking a dozen wild shots in the paint every night) and turn it around. We did last year. But does that mean we should assume it will happen again and just kinda not discuss the issues this team has? If it does, what's the point of even talking about the games or the team?

I discuss the issues all the time. It's the emotional vomit that is childish and off-putting. But, I realize that's why a lot of people follow sports, and I should just ignore it. So, carry on.

We didn’t look too hot to begin the year last year before going on that significant winning streak to start sec play. Hoping we continue to mesh, and get in a groove! We shall see though.

I saw emotional vomit and figured that was my bat signal. Who needs me?

I don’t have a good read on what this team’s ceiling is (the bullish argument is we have a legit college backcourt with talented newcomers in the front court that need time to adapt and grow), but I think we’ll be at worst a solid tourney team (although that might mean like a 7 seed).

I do think it’s fairly clear that there’s going to be some non-conference ups and downs though, and maybe some aggressive complaining about Nate’s scheduling habits.

I know we got better as the year went along last season. This looks a little different to me.

The Zags Houston, Memphis and Baylor ahead. I would be happy if we won one of those.

Luckily Memphis is (predictably) a trainwreck. We have to play there, though, and they are long, athletic and pretty good defensively. It's not a great matchup for us even if their offense is a disaster.

I just saw the stat line and this one stuck out to me.

Q had 5 TO's and JD had 7. We only played 8 players. Do we have a number either in the dog house or hurt. Dont most teams have 13 on scholarship?

More rambling, but I think we all thought we’d have more depth. We basically have 8 real rotation guys at this point, which is fine, but it’s not what we assumed.

Burnett was pretty much a lock to contribute, and I don’t think many people had Tchikou as a garbage-time only guy.

Pretty sure there’s going to be more Rojas than most of us were expecting.

Anyway, the best thing to come out of last night (besides just notching a win) was Gurley looking like a useful two-way player. I was getting a little worried the first 4 games.

Memphis is basically Kentucky from last year. If we get hot from outside we can kick the shite out of them, but if they limit us on the perimeter and force us to drive it'll be a slopfest that doesn't get out of the 60s.

Do you think we try playing Miles on ball more with the TO issues from our primary ball handlers or let him continue to impress off ball?

If any good came from this weekends games, it’s that Kansas, Memphis, and Gonzaga all lost as well. It doesn’t benefit us directly, but it does take some of the media heat off the Iona upset.

Since I can't watch (due to I am bad luck if I do) it sounds like the Bama Fanbase is playing at a higher level than the team plays at this point in our season.

Another season of poor free throw shooting (so far) doesn't bode well for us.

We’re placing you on an indefinite first half suspension for all games moving forward. You can tune in at the 10:00 mark of the second half with George.

If it means getting DM more looks at the rim, I would be for it. He’s still a little wild sometimes, but I have a bit more confidence in his size and athleticism to finish contested drives. Shack and Q do a better job finishing than we give them credit for a lot of the time because when it goes bad, it looks really bad. If they have a little space to operate in, they’re pretty consistent finishers. I think we could see a benefit with Miles in that role when teams are forcing us to finish against help defenders at the basket though.

I have NOT watched 1 minute of a Bama game including last year so I am really not the Problem.

I see the start time of games and then come to the board i full hour after the expected end time of a game.

It ain't me.....Aight
