Rick Pitino is a hall of fame coach, but we should not be losing to that Iona team. They are a good mid major, but that’s a game we don’t need to lose and probably shouldn’t have lost.

Worst part was you could see about halfway through the 2nd half that free throws were going to potentially be the downfall. But refs did not help at all and were quite terrible.

Also, I thought Darius Miles had a quietly good game and had some terrible calls against him, the foul that should have been a jump ball and the guy lowering into him that they called on him.

At the end of the day, this is a good team that will go far in the SEC. No need to panic, however some need to realize this team is not the next Kentucky, though likely better in consecutive years than at any point since Sanderson We'll see...

Iona was always going to be a tricky opponent and I guarantee they'll be a tricky opponent in march

Lol my wife is sitting here on the computer while I was watching. She said they should not be playing on Thanksgiving anyways.

Except for Quinerly and Shack we don't have confident scorers. Miles has it but does not play enough minutes yet. Ellis really needs to have that confidence and not pass up shots.

I really think improvement rest at the feet of JD and Ellis replacing 75% of Shack's drives. It just changes everything.

When JD gets his own shot you can tell he is up there with JQ at finishing. That gives us another option

Big difference between winning all the games, and winning the games you are heavily favored in and could be losses that keep your out of tournament selection time

You can be favored against 10 teams, yet odds are you aren't going to win all 10 of them unless you're playing really bad teams.

You are reaching here. This is a bad loss... No arguing it.

Schedule is going to get a lot tougher now and if they keep playing like this they won't be winning much on the remaining ooc schedule

Don’t worry guys we got Rojas coming back for SEC play to save us

I know this was sarcastic, but hell, maybe he can shoot from deep? This team has exactly 1 threat from 3. Gurley, Ellis, JD have been meh thus far.

It's not going to be nearly as bad as some of you think.

Losing always sucks, but we played like crap. It’s one thing to play well and lose, this was just an awful game

Ellis is shooting 42% from 3 on 5 attempts per game. He needs to be aggressive, but his efficiency is still sky high.

It's a loss but guess what? We was never going undefeated so thank God it happened so we can learn from it! Coach Oats can't play for these guys. They gotta grow and learn to win just like Herb, JP, JB, Reese, & Primo did last year. JD needs to start and you will see a difference in his play along with JQ.

It’s not gonna happen but the staring 5 should be:

JD
JQ
Keon
Gurley
Bediako

Shack was awful on drives and in transition last year too, but no one ever really took those opportunities away from him. Granted we didn't have as many guys to take them, but I'm still not expecting any changes to happen regarding our usage %s on offense. To me it falls under the whole insanity = doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Shack isn't a PG. He's never going to be a PG. He's a spot up shooter who can pick and choose spots to drive the ball. Why we let him try to be anything else at this point is just mind boggling to me.

Ellis, JQ, and JD all need to be aggressive. JQ can get to the rim any time he wants. JD needs to look to finish more.
