I’m really interested to see how Nate cuts the rotation down. All 12 guys can play. I honestly don’t know who you cut out.
I agree. Although I am curious as to why Gurley was in down the stretch. He bricked several 3's and had a couple of late TO's. It looks like Pringle is going to be one that gets less and less time. He only had 12 minutes tonight to Gurley's 24. I wouldn't mind seeing that reversed. Pringle is going to rebound and not kill us taking ill advised threes and I kinda feel like he may be a better defender.

I don’t see how Miles gets minutes.
So I’m only sure of Miles minutes being cut

Gurley has a lot of experience. He can hit that 3 point shot. I don't mind him being in down the stretch. I do like Pringle too. He looks very physical. But he hasn't shown the offense that Gurley has. Also I think Gurley is one of Oats favs.

He will get some of the Rylen Griffen minutes. If he's hitting 3s and not making dumb turnovers he could get some of Burnetts minutes.

I get what you are saying about Gurley's experience but he only shot 25.4% last year on 71 attempts from 3. 30% this year but went 2-8 tonight and with EVERYONE seemingly having the green light I just feel like his willingness to throw one up at any time just isn't the best option on that end of the floor. While Pringle may not add as much offensively, we don't really need him to with all the weapons we have. I would rather have his defense and rebounding and lack of scoring in over Gurley defense and rebounding and potential wasted offensive possessions. I do like Gurley to pick up an offensive board and put back like he did late in the game today. Which was kinda my take on Juwan Gary last year - if he only did that then I was good with him on the floor with his defense and toughness. But letting Gary jack up 3's was not smart. Some guys just shouldn't have the green light.

Much rather Griffen have as many minutes as he can

Heavy Minutes:
JQ
Sears
Miller
Burnett
Clowney
Welch
Bediako
Griffin
Bradley
Miles
Gurley
Pringle
It's going to be hard to sit Griffin because he just oozes with confidence.
Am I missing anybody?

It will come down to the hot hand. I want the guy who can do the best John Petty impersonation. Stretching the defense will make life a lot easier for those other guys.

I was there. And as shitty as everyone shot, it looked like those rims were tight as hell. I probably saw at least 2 dozen shots go in and out. Tons of backcourt rebounds that seemed to bounce 5 get further than you'd expect. It was uglier than hell. But at a certain point, everyone in the crowd just seemed frustrated as hell watching it.

It was crazy to see that many shots go down and pop out.

Everybody stop complaining about our shooting when yall heard the sound that rim was making once the ball hit it. LOL
And again it's a very difficult gym to shoot in.
See above. It was fricking ridiculous. I'm glad to see it from someone listening in TV

I think once we get into conference play our strongest 5 is gonna end up being:
JQ at the 1
Sears at the 2
Nimari at the 3
Miller at the 4
Clowney at the 5
JQ at the 1
Sears at the 2
Nimari at the 3
Miller at the 4
Clowney at the 5

didnt watch second half so not shocked at the score. Still 21 TO's and just over 50% at the FT line.
Offensive rebounds carried the team in the first half as the second half both teams scored the same.

I agree. Gurley is not a very good shooter and should take no more than four threes in a game. We also need to to have a better shot selection. I have no problem taking a lot of threes but only if you have a good look. Last night we missed so many threes our guys were tired from grabbing offensive rebounds. We need to focus on our dribble and drive game to go along with our three point game.

Alabama’s Rebounding Proves to be the Difference in 65-55 Road Win at South Alabama
The Alabama men's basketball team improved to 3-0 Tuesday night as the Tide picked up their first road win of the season, defeating South Alabama 65-55. For the third straight game to open the season the Crimson Tide dominated the glass, out-rebounding South Alabama 63-40.
Alabama opened up the game in the second half as the Tide held a 20-point lead (59-39) with just under seven and a half minutes left in the game. Eight different players scored for the Tide led by Brandon Miller with 19 points to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and one block.
For the third straight game Alabama controlled the glass, out-rebounding South Alabama 63-40, led by Noah Clowney's 15 rebounds, the most by an Alabama player this season. The Tide's 25 offensive rebounds led to 22 second chance points.
Jahvon Quinerly, a preseason SEC All-Conference and Bob Cousy Watch List honoree, made his season debut as he returned from an ACL injury he suffered in the opening game of the 2022 NCAA Tournament last March.
Head Coach Nate Oats Postgame Comments
"This is a good road win. It is our first road game of the year and offensively we were not very good for large stretches of the game; way too many turnovers and didn't hit a shot for a while there. Offensive rebounding saved us there, which it has for a good part of the year, particularly in our first game and this game so it was huge for (Noah) Clowney to get eight offensive boards himself and 15 rebounds that was huge. That is why he is in the starting lineup because he plays so hard and rebounds the ball. Offensively we got a lot of work to do, we just are not anywhere close on where we are going to be or need to be but defensively I give our guys a ton of credit and give South a lot of credit."

Discouraging thing about this team: Going to be streaky from 3 like last year. No “pure shooters” aside from Miller
Encouraging thing about this team: They’re winning comfortably anyway because they’re playing defense and rebounding.
A good shooting night from us and we’ll beat anyone in the country if this defense holds. A bad shooting night from us and we should be able to win some games against middle of the standings teams that we were losing a year ago.
The turnovers and free throws have to be cleaned up though.. It’s easy to say “it’s early, they will get better” but this plagued last years team in March.
I think the depth on this team will allow the defense to hold up. You don’t defend there’s a guy with similar talent on the bench that will.
