It's going to be really interesting to see how they react tomorrow night.
It feels weird to even post about basketball but this is the basketball thread so I'm going to do it.
You should definitely go if you can. A fun bunch to watch live.

I would assume best case scenario for Miles would be;
1. The conflict was spontaneous and not premeditated and NOT initiated by Miles
2. Even though it was Miles' gun, his friend had been holding it for a while and was the shooter
3. The man that was with the victim shot first
For anyone in criminal law, what would that set of facts mean for Miles?
If all that is true he's not getting convicted of anything and he's only guilty of being a dumbass in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people.

no chance of him getting completely off even in best case scenario when there's a body imo.

Obviously this situation is horrible and prayers to the victims family. I’d love to see the University or team do something for the victim’s child, but I imagine we’ll try to separate from Miles as much as possible.
Who knows how this will affect the team on and off the court. This team seems very close knit and even though Miles was focusing on his mental health lately and not with the team, I’m sure there are guys who were close to him.
Even though I don’t blame Oats at all, there will be scrutiny from the public and certainly a lot of inquiries into Miles mental health as is relates to how Oats handled it. Like Bryant said, it may have an impact on other team’s interest in him as a coach, warranted or not. It will be another box to check in the vetting process.

I really hope this terrible situation doesn’t take away from the accolades the innocent members of the team (including coaches) deserve. It’s hard not to think that if a voter is weighing 2 options that are pretty similar for POY or COY, they may go with the other person due to the negative press.
I also worry that this will have at least some marginal impact on recruiting. The ring video of the 2 girls carrying food and running for cover wouldn’t make me feel good as a parent of a student (regardless if an athlete or not). With as many shots were fired near a crowded spot, it’s practically a miracle that other bystanders weren’t hurt.
The attention should be on the team’s success and how to get a new arena built, but now all of that is taking a backseat due to absolute stupidity. Who takes a gun to go party after a win? Alcohol, drugs, huge crowd, and loaded weapons…yeah, that won’t turn out bad. Probably more to the story.

A family I was in line behind at the concession stand Saturday bought 10 hotdogs and 3 drinks and it cost damn near 100 dollars.

shite. This forum is all for fun and happy to shoot the shite and drink with anyone.

That other guy looks like a piece of shite. Not only because of that "BUZZ" neck tattoo. But the way he's smiling in his mug shot in a capital murder charge. And I'm not some pearl clutcher. And i don't say this as a dog whistle and that's why I don't often say it. But that dude looks like a POS thug. frick him.
Everyone about this is a fricking tragedy.

How did that guy driving the victim not get shot?
Because a lot of the POS willing to get into shootouts have stormtrooper aim. Which is terrifying
That's why i was so scared to be around Bourbon St past 10. It gets rough as hell. And they don't hit their target. It's spray and pray, and it's usually an innocent bystander that gets hit.
