I noticed that too. It was clear we have been coached up on D. thanks Charlie Henry! Rylan Griffin was funny post game when asked about Coach Oats and D. He laughed and said, "I had no idea..."

Is Liberty on the SEC network or SECN+?
ESPN+. Kentucky has the regular SEC Network game on Friday night, according to ESPN, but ESPN+ has all the SEC games. I guess that network may be SEC+ rather than ESPN+ on some providers.

Yeah, I can't recall any fouls committed by us that pissed me off, which I don't think happened a single time last season. The 4 point play late was dumb, but that was also a walk-on. Everything we got whistled for was a legit effort at making a defensive play instead of some stupid hand check 35 feet from the basket or a lazy bump on a guy taking a shot to give up an easy and-1.

I can say that I am absolutely going to have a love/hate relationship with Sears. If he plays his role he can be very helpful to this team. If he starts doing Iso Joe shite like he did for a stretch I'm gonna wanna pinch his little head off.

It's going to be an up and down process early on because of all the new guys and their makeup, but I feel really, really good about the overall makeup of this roster and what it will look like come February.
People need to remember Oats first 2 years it took us about 7 or 8 games to get going. I expect about the same this year

I am moderately worried about Friday. This game has last years Davidson written all over it to me. I know we will give effort but I’m scared they will exploit our youth on the defensive end

Calm down mistaken...
I think you have the right to worry because Liberty presents a challenge on the perimeter. They have about 4 to 5 guards who really can play basketball so I think the challenge will be for the guys to not leave their feet on pump fakes and just stay fundamentally sound on the defensive end.
I think our crowd will have an impact in this game. This young team will need them as much as possible early on until they can find an offensive rhythm.
Just take care of the ball offensively.

He forced it at times but I will say this that little tiny mite ain't scared to rebound the basketball.

Part of it is the Oats offensive design. It's the dribble-drive offense that several teams use (Kentucky for example).
I don't care for parts of it. It doesn't allow enough off ball screening and lane cutting. More iso and perimeter spacing. Reliant on the dribble drive to succeed. Would like to see the ball move more.

Did Namari Burnett play the other night? I did not see the game and did not see his name mentioned.

Burnett did not have a good game but I really liked his build and he didn't look rattled at all. I think he'll be a good contributor for us.
It looked like the first game he had played in a few years, which it obviously was.

As long as we defend and rebound like we've done the first game then we will be in every game.
Cut down the turnovers and improve in the shooting department.

Yes, I'm excited to see where he goes but hopefully it's to the good guys!

"Nimari Burnett"
He rushed a little on the offensive end but defensively he's pretty good honestly.
