He got better at it.
But for the most part you are right.

I mean I guess I get trying to isolate Miller. You think he’s the guy, a top draft pick, etc. but we’ve watched Q for over two years. He can’t finish at the rim with any consistency. Watching him pound the ball and then go one on three is just maddening. Oats has to reel that in.

I like Bill. He can be a little annoying at times, but he’s unapologetically himself. I also thought he had a great quote in the Michigan St game when he said, “If everybody thinks the same, nobody thinks.”

I enjoy listening to Walton when it’s two teams I care nothing about. Didn’t necessarily love him doing our games but there have been worse for sure.

He just got to be smarter and the other guys gotta cut, slide, or replace. He had some good drives and he had some really bad ones.

I don't mind him. It would be hard to deal with on the majority of your games, though.

Walton drove me bonkers. Could’ve put it on mute but eh he is pretty good when he’s not bloviating about the Willamette or the nephew of a donut shop in a Portland suburb.

Bill really be wilding lol.

I actually thought Walton was pretty decent. He mostly talked about the game and I think a lot of his jokes go over people's heads. I didn't like him in the past, but it was mostly based on one of our games he called where he yammered on about everything but the game the whole time.

I've listened to him a lot on these tournaments and P12 games and I actually thought he was more involved with the game and teams than any other time I've listened to him.
And some of his Dead references were absolutely masterful.

Can't stand him. My main problem with him is he clearly does no research and just shows up and starts talking, over half of which has nothing to do with the game itself.
It's also a bit annoying how it doesn't seem like he knows how the rules/procedures work in today's game. Him making a fuss about Bediako not checking in until after the 1st FT had me so confused. That has been a thing ever since I started playing. When your Play-By-Play guy has to inform the Color guy of rules, procedures, and constantly correcting him on what happened your Color guy needs to be replaced.

His scout must’ve been Alabama for this tournament because for each of our 3 games, I felt like he really only talked about our players and their backgrounds.

Walton knew that Chuck blocked the ball and said it. then he had to explain to the other announcer three times that officials can review a goaltending but not a block. So the play would be reviewed. It was, and he was right, a block. Walton is goofy, but he knows the game.

It’s true, the average sports fan didn’t watch this game and most people will only take it at face value, and that is the end result.

No. 18 Alabama Outlasts No. 1 North Carolina in Quadruple Overtime, 103-101
The Crimson Tide defeats the No. 1 team in the nation for the first time in 18 years, fourth time in program history
The No. 18/18 Alabama men's basketball team outlasted No. 1/1 North Carolina in four overtimes, 103-101, in Sunday's third-place game of the 2022 Phil Knight Invitational. In a contest that featured 15 ties and 14 lead changes, the Crimson Tide was able to hang on in the final seconds to record the fourth win in program history over an Associated Press No. 1-ranked opponent (4-7).
Mark Sears led the Crimson Tide with a season-high 24 points including a career-high seven threes and Jahvon Quinerly added 21 points, eight assists and six rebounds off the bench. His final dime was a lob to Charles Bediako with 26 seconds left which resulted in the game-winning bucket. UNC (5-2) had both teams had chances to win the game, as the Tide led by four points to begin the second overtime while the Tar Heels led by six in triple overtime.
Alabama went on to improve to 3-0 in program history in quadruple overtime contests with the last one coming on Feb. 17, 2017 at South Carolina (won 90-86). Four other players reached double figures with Charles Bediako recording 14 points and 16 boards along with three blocks and two steals.
HEAD COACH NATE OATS POSTGAME COMMENTS
"That was a fun one! I don't know if I have been involved in a four-overtime game before, I was losing track of how many overtimes we were in at the end but a lot of credit to our guys, we showed a lot of character there and we could have folded. To come back from being down six in the third overtime, we were tired and both teams like to get up-and-down, and it turned into a halfcourt game for a majority of the end of the game. I thought guys made some timely plays; I thought Charles (Bediako) was huge for us with 16 rebounds and played 44 minutes for a guy that is not used to playing more than 20 so for him to be able to stay in for more than 40 and not foul out is probably a record for Charles. Armando Bacot is obviously good, but I thought Charles matched him pretty well. I give North Carolina a lot of credit, they don't have much depth and for them to go to four overtimes and go toe-to-toe with us shows a lot. For Quinerly not being cleared to play a couple of weeks ago and come in and play 44 minutes, I didn't think it was one of his best shooting performances for sure, but he still ends up with 21 points, six rebounds and eight assists, I think that is still a good stat line for a guy that was not cleared to play two weeks ago."
