We went last night.. the crowd was great and the team is getting better.

Coleman isn’t bad as long as your tickets aren’t in the rafters.

Row 30 and down is actually fine.

Currently @AlabamaMBB is first in scoring with 89.7 points per game and is fifth in free-throw shooting percentage at 79.1 percent. If the Tide maintains this pace both would be school records. The Rocket Eight averaged 87.9 ppg in 1956, while 1987 shot 78.7 percent in FT.

Tide Hoops History@BamaHistory
On this date 41 years ago in 1983, @AlabamaMBB traveled to Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles and upset No. 1-ranked UCLA 70-67 to provide some comfort to the @AlabamaFTBL fan base still reeling from the sudden death of legendary football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant two days earlier.

Bryant’s funeral services had concluded earlier in the day before Alabama head coach Wimp Sanderson led his team to the stunning road victory. @wimpsanderson1 received encouragement from the Bryant family to still play the game despite the emotional circumstances. Bobby Lee Hurt scored 23 points for the Crimson Tide, while Ennis Whatley added 20.

In honor of Bryant, the players wore black patches on their uniform shoulders and never trailed against the Bruins. At one point the Crimson Tide built a 16-point lead, before UCLA rallied late to tie the game. In the final seconds, Alabama held on for the victory courtesy of three free throws, two from Mike Davis and one from Buck Johnson.

The 1982-83 Crimson Tide also had dominating non-conference wins against Southern California and Georgetown with Patrick Ewing, but things unraveled in SEC play as Alabama finished 20-12 overall and 8-10 in the conference.

The Alabama men's basketball team posted its school-record sixth 100-point game of the season with a 109-88 win over LSU Saturday night inside Coleman Coliseum.

Five players scored double figures to lead the Crimson Tide (14-6, 6-1 SEC) to its second-highest point total of the season (111 vs. Eastern Illinois). Mark Sears hit all 11 of his free throws and led the team with 21 points, while Latrell Wrightsell Jr. had 19 and Aaron Estrada added 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Grant Nelson and Rylan Griffen added 12 points apiece.

The Tigers (11-9, 3-4 SEC) were led by Mike Williams III who finished with 16 points.

Head Coach Nate Oats Postgame Comments
"I want to thank the fans that keep coming out. Our student section was great and I thought everybody was awesome. When the environment is loud, it is what makes college basketball special. So, I like to thank them and hopefully we can get them to keep coming out. Great offensive game, obviously. We've been on these guys about the turnovers and there were really only two turnovers in the first half. This is a pretty compliant group that tries to do what you ask them to do. The only issue is defensively we just aren't quite there yet. I didn't think it was there like it needed to be today… We were better because we outscored them offensively, we were a lot better than what we have been. We still didn't get the defense that we'd like. So, we were able to finally get a pretty convincing win when it felt like we needed to get one of those."

Aaron Estrada's Blue Collar Effort Leads to Breakthrough in Conference Play (SI)

The transfer guard bounced back in a big way on Saturday night after going scoreless against the Auburn Tigers.

I like Cosby's size and talent. He plays a little out of control but i think he can be a good player for us.

Looking back at this board from last night, gotta lighten up on Estrada some and zoom out. He is by FAR the best rebounding guard on the team and consistently crashes the boards and bangs down low and has done so all year. He leads the team in assists because Oats asks him to create to relieve some pressure on Sears although he isn't a natural pg. He is second on the team in steals per game and his shooting percentages aren't bad at either 2 or 3.

Yeah Estrada is a good player for us. He can do so much to help the team win. His shot isnt hot right now but that will come. He still gives great effort every night. He plays smart but he still is learning to play with a new group of guys. I have no complaints for Estrada.

Idiotic hot takes like Estrada is lazy are why I just steer clear during games. There's no sense talking basketball with people that dense.

Sears' 3-point shot seems to be affected by his leg injury a couple of games ago. Has anybody got an update?

I started to engage but just turned my phone off for a bit. Rather enjoy the game.
