Destroying decent mid majors absolutely juices the power numbers. This team is extremely consistent and shows up to play every single game. Very mature, veteran team. Nothing even close to what could be considered “laying an egg.”

We just haven’t been good enough defensively to beat top teams. Hopefully that changes in March, but I love this team!!

Game thoughts:
- Great overall performance
- Nice to see us shoot the ball well against a good team
- No second half meltdown
- We are a terrible matchup for Liberty since they have no post threat, so don’t want to read too much into today as far as SEC play goes
- Good to see bench guys being more aggressive offensively (namely Wrightsell and Walters)
- Still question marks about our ability to play team defense against good post men

Trying to think about SEC play, which teams have really good post players? Auburn has Broome, MSU has Tolu if he comes back, Ole Miss has Sharp but he’s all defense, UK has freshmen 7 footers that haven’t been able to play much at all, but who else am I missing?

It’s not just the post players, Liberty’s perimeter players couldn’t stay in front of our guys at all. Even Sam Walters had a couple blow buys today and was generally able to stay in front of his men on defense. Liberty lacks athleticism, and we don’t generally struggle with teams that lack athleticism (unless they have an elite post player like Purdue and Creighton to your point). We struggle against long, athletic teams that can switch on defense and get down hill on offense, which there are several in the SEC.

Creighton didnt have a ton of athleticism. I still think we wouldve beaten them by about 20 on a neutral court where they wouldn't have gotten all the calls. I hope we play them in the NCAAT.

Great game. I hated that we scheduled Falwell's Flamers. But beating them by 45 points was pretty damn satisfying to watch. I love seeing us play complete games. If we had Bediako and weren't completely vulnerable against good centers, this team would be at least top 10, and that's being conservative about it imo.

Still plenty of room to grow. But this team is electric as hell.

Will be interesting to see if Arkansas beats UNC Wilmington at home. Tied at almost halftime.

The scariest team ranked below 100 possibly. I mean that too. They beat Kentucky. Kentucky did play terrible in that one though.

Menifield getting eligible may have saved yalls season. He got 16 in the first half.

Arkansas shot 43 free throws today. Hard to beat them in Bud Walton.

77 combined freethrows and a game that wouldn't end.

They make games borderline unwatchable when they call that many fouls.

It is but it was called fairly both ways. More foul calls will be called when both teams are driving to the basket.

What drives me crazy is when the opposing coach calls a timeout down 13 with less than a minute left

Remember in 2021 when we played you guys in Arkansas and you guys shot 43 free throws and we shot 8? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

It has been a good day with a dominant win in Birmingham and bowl games with satisfying outcomes. On to SEC play!
