Tickets should be pretty easy to get I would guess. Our fans will be in Pasadena so I imagine if you waited until right before tip you could get in for almost free

On Ticketmaster, lower level sides are pretty much sold out, but you can find 4 together in the corners and endzone/ baseline easily, lower level.

Get it off your chest Chadaristic. I would prefer that over you posting snarky gif responses to my posts or criticizing a misspelling I make, every few days.

Not sure what I did to start you doin that but I apologize. I’m sorry I am passionate about Alabama basketball. I’ll try to be nicer to the trolls and negabammers in the new year. You do a good job keeping the recruiting thread updated ect. I have no problem with you.

I’ve got a front row seat to the game Saturday for sale. Sec 115. Had 2 this morning and sold one for $125. So this one is $125 or best offer.

Looks like Bama/Liberty will also be on SEC Network+ (not just ESPN+). Still streaming but at least broader availability.

And we’ll see you on @SECNetwork+ at 1 pm CT for this battle between the Tide and the Flames!

Excited that my pal @Lawdagger23 is making the jump into the booth for this one! We can’t wait.

SEC Ranks/Stats vs Varying Degrees of Competition (Torvik)

Interesting because it shows who might be overwhelming bad teams to the extent that they inflate their numbers a bit, even when they are "opponent adjusted" (Tennessee has been notorious was this with their defensive metrics under Barnes).

Interesting that Torvik has us ranked 4th. What are his rankings mainly based on? Not as familiar with him as much, I subscribe to KenPom.

Same general premise - points per possession adjusted for opponent strength. His site just gives you basically all the stats and numbers and lets you look at them however you want (by opponents, by period of time, etc) whereas KenPom is only what he gives you (which is a lot, but you can't look at different subsets unless he has it included already).

You can look at the total yearly numbers without any of the preseason fluff included (which is nearing going away entirely on both Torvik and KenPom) if you change the "start" date for the numbers to 11-2-2023. Alabama is #5 when you do that. Offense improves slightly but defense drops pretty significantly (since expectations were we'd be decent defensively if not good).

His top 4 is

1. Houston
2. Purdue
3. Arizona
4. Alabama

Which is pretty interesting. I do think we have a shot to be a top team but we need to start winning some of these close games.

Our schedule is set up for us to have a lot of success over the next 10 games, I’ve got us going 8 and 2 over that stretch with the losses being @Tennessee and @Miss State. Hopefully we can get some of our defensive and fouling issues worked out.

vs Top 50 opponents out of the 90 High Major teams that have played another Top 50 opponent (only 5 haven't, Ole Miss is one of them)

#80 out of 90 in PPP Defense (unadjusted for opponent) - 1.206 PPP

#9 out of 90 in PPP Offense (unadjusted for opponent) - 1.131 PPP

I've seen some of the discussion over here about our offense being an issue in these games against Clemson, Creighton, Purdue, Arizona, etc. It has been varying levels of good in those games (it was pretty ugly vs Arizona, pretty great against Purdue). It's just not a discussion - our offense has been very good in the aggregate........against good teams. It has been otherworldly against bad teams. The games where we didn't shoot well at all from 3 (Creighton/Zona), we shot 58% from 2PT and 30/39 (77%) from the FT line. We are still pretty efficient even when our outside shooting is atrocious.

Our defense has just flat out been bad. It was better against Creighton and Arizona, so hopefully we're at least moving in the right direction, but the way we foul and give up free points makes it nearly impossible to be a good defensive team - and even without it we still struggle.

The good news is we've both played really good offenses and really good offenses with really good bigs - the worst combination in the country and one that only around 10 teams really possess (Purdue, Creighton, Clemson.......Carolina, Kansas, UConn, Duke, Nova, Auburn).

Offense Rank
#2 Purdue (best offensive big in America)
#14 Creighton (top 5 offensive big in America)
#17 Arizona (very solid big)
#22 Clemson (top 10 offensive big in America)
#23 Ohio State
#24 Indiana State

We've played 6 of the top 23 (not including us) offenses in the country already.

The only SEC teams in the Top 25 offensively currently are:

1. Alabama
3. Texas A&M
11. Kentucky
13. Auburn
25. Florida

46. Tennessee
49. South Carolina
63. Ole Miss
77. Mississippi St
91. Arkansas
107. Missouri
152. Georgia
163. LSU
224. Vanderbilt

That’s a good point and one I was trying to make even though I didn't do it near as well as you just did. We scored enough to win even though we shot bad in some of those, if our defense and us fouling hadn't been such a problem.

I did feel like in those 3 games our defense looked a lot better for stretches and effort doesn't seem like its a problem.

Hopefully we can get our issues worked out in these next 10 games and be ready to kick some butt the last 1/3rd of the season and in the tournament.

I'm hopeful that once we play some less potent offenses that don't have gigantic bigs (who can also shoot free throws) that our fouling issues subside a little bit, and that in turn lowers of PPP allowed by 0.1-0.2 all by itself.

We get a pretty soft start opponent offense wise in SEC play - #224 Vandy, #49 USCe, #77 State, #107 Mizzou. Between that and the Liberty game really hope we at least start showing some better continuity team defense wise.

Looks like Clowney got recalled for tonight’s game against the Bucks. If Milwaukee blows them out, he could see some action.
