I think he will continue to get more playing time as the year goes, he’s a good player. He just has Sears, Estrada, Griffen, and Wrightsell in front of him in the guard rotation right now.
I also like Cosby’s off the ball movement.

Yeah Walton is having a bad year so far for whatever reason.

But I was told that Rylan is not a shooter.
If he can do that vs a team as I said that we are not 40 plus points better than, at home, very well and good. Shooters make shots all the time against good teams and bad , when it matters. road and home. Mark Sears is one. So far Griffen has not been. I would call Aaron Estrada for instance a scorer, and not really a shooter.
He's capable, and gives effort. It would be huge for the team if this is the start of a light coming on.

Seeing him do it vs anyone was encouraging. He’s obviously a good scorer, just needs to get his confidence going. Today should help.

How could his defense be worse than what we’ve seen so far?
Posted on 12/23/23 at 10:29 pm to Goombaw
Well we're 94th in adjusted Defense out of 362 teams so we could for sure be worse, but we need to be a lot better.
Were #1 out of 362 teams in adjusted offense.

Grant Nelson continues to look like a solid player against terrible teams. Gotta play better against good teams.
This is probably the first time in his entire life he’s faced players as good or better than him on a regular basis. As long as he’s adjusted by the conference stretch run all will be fine.

This team would have won some of these games with JQ and Angry Chuck back. But. that's water under the bridge.

Haven’t found anything post game to confirm, but I’m pretty sure it was Stevenson who went to the locker room with Clarke in the first half and I don’t believe he played again after coming back out. Were the announcers calling the game from home? I’m guessing no one mentioned it on the broadcast?

We miss Chuck for sure.
I am in a college fantasy basketball league and I use that as one way to judge how players are producing relative to each other. It's like any fantasy league it counts all their stats, their points, rebounds, assists, turnovers, steals ect and then I sort the players by position and by how many fantasy points per game they average.
Among guards Sears is 25th, Quinerly is 116th, and Estrada is 123rd for some comparison of how the three are producing statistically so far this season.
Sears at 25th is the second-highest guard in the SEC behind Ole Miss' Allen Flanagin who is 7th. Estrada is the 11th highest-ranked guard in the SEC.
The top 12 guards in the SEC so far this season going by that are
1. Allen Flanagin - Ole Miss
2. Mark Sears - Alabama
3. Reed Sheppard - Kentucky
4. Matthew Murrell - Ole Miss
5. Wade Taylor - TAMU
6. Cameron Matthews - Mississippi State
7. Josiah Jordan James - Tennessee
8. Jordan Wright - LSU
9. Rob Dillingham - Kentucky
10. Antonio Reeves - Kentucky
11. Aaron Estrada - Alabama
12. Tramon Mark - Arkansas

#354 out of #362 in Luck. Ball just hasn’t bounced our way so far
Does anyone know how this is measured?

If your efficiency numbers say you were the better team but keep losing close games you're unlucky. If your efficiency numbers say you should be losing but you keep winning close games then you're lucky. It's basically saying that good teams can't continue to lose close games without some bad luck and bad teams can't keep winning them without some good luck.

Our TO's are way down. Guess who is no longer running point?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how it's measured, but if they were to include shot quality (team vs. opponent) then I'd have a hard time believing we weren't even lower in those rankings. We are getting some fantastic looks and missing, and while our opponents are getting some open looks they're also hitting their tough ones.

My question is...why isn't he playing?
The upside he has is ridiculous.
He improved his ball handling I see.
