A 30 day window to enter the portal opens if there is a coaching change. Doesn't matter when it happens unless it coincides with another window. It really doesn't matter when he retired. I guess he could have waited another week so that it would have been too late for anyone who did transfer to be able to enroll for spring.

The real issue is that there is no opportunity for us to backfill with guys who will be eligible for spring practice. The whole arrangement is absolutely insane.

Damn I am sure this happened, but I didn't realize if a coach gets fired or quits mid-season the 30 day window opens. This stuff is so wild.

Totally wild. The powers that be swung the pendulum way too far in the opposite direction when they made that rule.

What a crappy rule that literally punishes the team who is already going to be dealing with adversity

Man, I was thinking they had some extension for some reason due to playoff appearance

Losing all this depth also changes the way you practice in the spring. shite sucks
