Adams has really good hands. If he has shot up the depth chart it is because he is catching everything thrown his way. He has playmaking ability too. Could be a faster version of Slade.

Believe he was a pretty good punt returner too.

Law
Prentice

Jam and Richard young were held out yesterday. I'm sure there were others.

Tyler Booker and Campbell both did not practice yesterday. Jaeden Roberts also sat out.

Due to the potential for a longer season I believe you'll see many starters sort of on a pitch count either in camp or even into the season. I think it's especially important for a young player like Williams who hasn't had the time to physically mature to limit his plays if you want him to come up with the big play to win a championship.

I agree. I think that DeBoer will handle injuries differently than Saban did. Saban was hardcore about pushing guys to the limit and this was especially true when Scott Cochran was there.

That was also a time when one loss could doom your season. Now there are ~40 teams seriously competing for 12 playoff spots, so you're not out until you pick up probably your 3rd loss, maybe even a 4th in some wilder years. Load management is a luxury coaches can take advantage of now.

I like what I heard from our guys in that trailer. They seem locked in.

I don’t think anyone is going to keep Williams or Odom on the bench long.

Those two are NFL ceiling guys, just a question of knowing the playbook and running effective route because talent wise they’re elite.

I haven't mapped it out but I feel like Saban used to rotate players at WR and DB significantly more prior to 2020 than he did the last few years. It may have been simply not having as many good players. His first few years he pretty much got everybody he wanted but eventually other coaches started putting more effort into recruiting.

I could see Prentice and Law getting some of their snaps cannibalized by Williams and Odom if they continue to progress throughout the season. Sorta like how Amari Cooper steadily became the 2012 team's 1WR over the course of the first month of the season. In game 1, Norwood was getting the most targets. By the time they got to game 5 v. Ole Miss, Amari Cooper was clearly the receiver getting the most targets.

I imagine that Bernard is going to be the top target this year though, so really it is going to be Prentice and/or Law who may end up losing out on some targets. Perhaps not because I feel like Prentice and Law are slot receivers and Williams may fit in on the outside along with Bernard.

Law will be getting touches in a number of ways a la Deebo Samuel. I hope Prentice has a good year. A veteran player, and probably the most underrated guy in that group.

I think you're right, but I also think those "gadget" touches will be spread between Law and Bernard, since that is precisely the role that Bernard played at Washington.

I'd like to see us use Law the way we used Waddle...get him the ball in space, but when you've got a 10.5 100m guy it would behoove us to try to get him the ball down the field.

I think the receiving corps has some great complementary skillsets but also some guys that profile in a similar fashion. Bernard and Law have the yac profile, Prentice and Adams have the prototypical slot profile, and Williams and Odom are just unique players entirely. I really can't wait to see how each guy is used within the offense. I do agree it will be sooner rather than later that Williams is WR1. Kid just has the juice. I think he's pretty easily the best receiver prospect in state since Julio Jones
