That's cold man. Bond is a badass motherfricker, who along with Jalen Milroe gave us one of the greatest plays in Alabama history. Tip your hat to him, wish him the best and move on.

I don't give a shite where he works now. The SEC is high stakes professional football and that's just the way it is. I don't pretend otherwise.

Bond is a professional athlete. When he was with Alabama, he did what he was hired to do. He met his job description and in doing so, he got a better offer from another employer. He leveraged his success for more money, a better opportunity or both. Maybe it was the wrong decision, time will tell but no matter. He did his job for us and Saban would've gladly hired him back.

I appreciate what he did, and I personally would never tell him to frick off.

I just don’t care about him one way or another personally. After the Iron Bowl he had a chance to be a legend. Now he’s just a mercenary.

I’m sure the Texas offer wasn’t significantly better. He just ran off when Saban left. Domani Jackson talked about the guys who we like rats off what they thought was a sinking ship.

But yeah I mean he’s on another team now so…I care about him as much as I care about the Washington St back up left tackle.

Bond is a legend, and when you say "mercenary". Do you mean like every professional football player in the country? Because that's what Bond is. He's a professional football player. The same sort of professional football player Alabama's NIL currently employs.

How do you know the Texas offer wasn't "significantly better"? And Saban leaving isn't a good enough reason for Bond to leave? Does Alabama have or had any players that left their original school because a coach was fired or took a better job?

Domani Jackson talked about rats leaving a sinking ship? Was he critical of that sorta thing? Because that's exactly what he did when he bailed on USC and I'm glad he did.

Personally, l'm glad Bond played for Alabama and I appreciate greatly his contribution, and I hope he's been well rewarded for that contribution. Too bad we couldn't keep him.

How do you know it was? We generally have been competitive in NiL against Texas so I’m basing it off that. He’s implied heavily that he basically did it because he likes the Texas QB situation more.

Domani said he’d pretty much wished he’d picked Alabama from the moment he stepped on campus at USC. And that legitimately is a sinking ship.

At the end of the day if you want to cheer for Bond then you do you. Yes it’s somewhat like professional sports, but it’s different enough that we’re not just rooting for laundry as most of these players receive diplomas from the schools as well and are part of student and community organizations.

I look at it like any relationship. If me and someone split up I don’t really wish them ill or wish them well. I move on.

I said: he ain't wearing crimson so frick em.

Hypotheticals involving Bond on the 2024 offense ain't worth our time. What I said goes for anybody not preparing to play for the Tide in 2024. I only want our guys to succeed. Everybody else can suck a tailpipe. We're trying to beat those guys.

Why? In the end this is all entertainment. Just like I can dislike an actor because I don’t like their performances, I can do the same for football. Especially since these guys are paid (officially) now.

And I can totally believe Bond was one of the guys banging down Saban’s door regarding new NIL stuff. Players like him are the reason he quit

And if something doesn’t change, that will be the downfall of college football. Those guys could give a rats arse what color jersey they are wearing. As long as the money is green, they will play for Bama today, Auburn tomorrow, and LSU the day after that. If they have no more loyalty and allegiance to the team and the school than that, frick ‘em! I root for the University of Alabama sports teams, not some egotistical kid with his hand out because he had a good half a season.

ETA: I know some of these kids came from nothing and didn’t have a pot to piss in. I’ve got no problem with them having decent spending money for a college student, like maybe $1500 -2000 a month. But that should be it and the same amount should go to the All-American QB as the 3rd string long snapper. The amount of money they are getting is obscene to play a damn game and get an education for free and preparation for the next level. Preparation with the best facilities and technology and nutrition that money can buy. If I want to see an overpaid prima donna, I’ll buy a ticket to see an NFL game. I don’t want to see them in BDS on Saturdays. I’ll go watch the Frozen Tide. At least those guys are playing for the love of the game and to represent Alabama, not to make a 6 or 7 figure salary before they are old enough to buy beer.

No, he didn't. To give a school your all means playing for said school for three or four years before leaving for the NFL Draft or whatever it is one does after finishing up your eligibility to play football at the collegiate level. Isaiah Bond was involved in one of the most iconic plays in program history. He now plays for a rival school within the conference.

Just like Bill Oliver lost most of the goodwill he earned at Alabama by accepting a job as the defensive coordinator/interim head coach at Auburn, so too has Isaiah Bond lost the goodwill 4th & 31 built up for him by leaving Alabama to play football at Texas.

If Bond is the new face of college football and it's all just a business, then why watch college football which is inferior to the NFL.

I don't think he is the new face of college football.

I think Bond and others like him are going to be the catalysts for what eventually forces the conferences to put a stop to this crap by putting rules in place that limits these kinds of situations.

1. History
2. Tradition
3. Assurances from people I trust who believe change is coming very soon to mitigate a lot of the damage done by NIL and the transfer portal
