Three-Run Sixth Too Much for Baseball in 6-1 Loss at No. 1 Texas

Alabama baseball suffered a 6-1 loss at top-ranked Texas on Sunday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The loss moved the Crimson Tide to 5-3 on the season.

Texas was first to strike with one run in the fourth, but Alabama countered with a run of its' own in the top of the fifth on an Owen Diodati solo home run. The Longhorns came right back to post a three-spot in the sixth and add two more in the eighth to regain and hold onto the lead for the 6-1 win.

The win went to Texas starter Tanner Witt (2-0), who allowed one run on four hits and a walk with nine strikeouts. Crimson Tide reliever Luke Holman (0-1) was tagged with the loss.

From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"Texas kind of took it to us today, had us on our heels early. I really thought the first two games were 50-50 games, so I wasn't pleased with the way we played today. This was an awesome experience for our kids. We needed this experience going on the road and playing the No. 1 team in the country in a good environment. We'll grow from this. There were a lot of positives that we learned about our club and a lot of things that we need to improve upon."

Yea despite the sweep and ugly weekend at the plate, we probably got more value out of this series than sweeping a no-name mid-major at home.

I also doubt we face a better rotation that we did this weekend.

Can never forget or forgive Texas for beating our best team, in my experience,in the finals of CWS.
Had those two monster pitchers, Roger Clemons and Calvin Schiraldi.
Think we got to Schiraldi in one game but Clemons destroyed us. 1983.

FYI for anyone heading to the baseball game on Wednesday

Parking Guidelines for Alabama-Troy Baseball Game on Wednesday

The University of Alabama will also be hosting a basketball game at Coleman Coliseum which will require updated parking guidelines

The University of Alabama baseball team will square off with Troy at Sewell-Thomas Stadium this Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT with the Crimson Tide men's basketball team hosting South Carolina at 5 p.m. on the same day. With both events overlapping, the University would like to advise fans on parking updates.

Parking Guidelines – Alabama vs. Troy (March 3)
The main Coleman Coliseum Lot will only be accessible to men's basketball pass holders

The B-Lot, located behind the scoreboard in left field, will be near capacity due to students and Coleman Coliseum staff occupying the spots

You can’t win the rest of them if you don’t win the next one! The next 10 games in a row are all at the Joe starting tomorrow.

We had a chance against Clemons. Had players on base and the best batter we have ever had at the plate but he didnt get a key hit when it counted. Was his name Dave Magidon- or something like that. Believe he was batting over 500
