I think we actually got a pretty good draw. Georgia just lost 2 of 3 to Missouri. We should feel pretty confident against Arkansas. A&M is good but their pitching can be suspect. Tennessee on the other side of the bracket. Teams that have been playing well like LSU and Ole Miss on the other side of the bracket.
One game at a time but I don’t think it’s out of the question we could make it to Sunday.

And, at least to start out with, we play the first game of the day vs the last game of the day. With the weather forecast as dicey as it looks right now, that is potentially an added bonus, should we advance on Tuesday.

Bama will be playing baseball before Hardee's get the biscuits done

Though in reality we'll lose 4-3 to Georgia after leading 3-0 early.

And all their runs will come with two outs and the bases empty

Dylan Ray Selected to 2022 Freshman All-SEC Baseball Team
The Tide’s closer leads the bullpen in strikeouts and has recorded six saves this season
Alabama's Dylan Ray was selected to the 2022 Freshman All-Southeastern Conference Baseball Team, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
Ray is Alabama's first selection on the Freshman All-SEC Team since Chandler Taylor in 2016. Zane Denton and Peyton Wilson were named to the Newcomer All-SEC Team in 2021, a category that was created to recognize then-sophomores for their play as freshmen in 2020 along with their efforts in 2021.

Connor Prielipp (@AlabamaBSB) threw a ‘pen earlier today prior to the SEC tournament. Sat 88-92/93 (18-900rpm) mixing in power CB @ 82-84 (~2600rpm) & CH 83-84 (~2200rpm). Potential first rounder as he makes his way back. No. 46 on the #PGDraft board.

On a side note, a clearly healthy Connor Prielipp throwing a bullpen on his team’s practice day in Hoover is still bizarre to me with Bama’s slim postseason hopes on the line. Just a strange look IMO.

It’s happening isn’t it!?!?

Oh what could have been with him …. We finally get a talent like that and don’t get to see what he could have done for this team the last two years … Bama baseball in a nutshell
Posted on 5/23/22 at 9:31 pm to RescueT
Probably not. Think he's throwing a simulated game in the pen for scouts.
Posted on 5/23/22 at 9:34 pm to RollTide33
Yea - he's gone. That's totally draft prep.

Is he still on scholarship and if so why?

It’s my understanding (without first hand knowledge) that he is on scholarship and it’s a sizable percentage of a scholarship. I think that’s where the hope that he might pitch at some point this season came from. If this is accurate, hopefully he’ll give back to the program after he makes his millions in a few months, if he gets drafted as projected.
As we learned during the Goff era, you can’t just yank scholarships and I’m sure the staff wanted him back. Still, in a sport where scholarships are doled out in fractional amounts, it could have been put to use for someone who was going to contribute this season. That may help explain the terse announcement from Coach Bo a few weeks ago when he indicated Connor had elected not to pitch this year.
I can’t say that I blame Connor for not wanting to risk his draft status. He’s also got to know the tightrope college baseball walks in financially supporting student athletes. I’m not going to pass judgement on the decision he makes for his future. If he makes his millions, I hope he remembers the program that helped him get there.

Not sure what you mean by give back, but I don’t see him doing anything any other draft picks of a college would do. I think they brought him back, thinking he would pitch like most do with injuries after rehab and he elected not to
