This is a test concept for individual forums for each school...

There are actually forums ready for each school. And there exists the ability to create OT boards for each school or other forums that the community may deem relevant or necessary.
If you can read this thread, it is because you were added to the "group" that is assigned to this board. Currently, it is a private board with access limited to the people in the group. That will change, as we are trying to work through how to police and control access at a board level. Navigation to this board will be easier if and when we decide to pull the trigger on this concept.

Looks like a good idea. I think it will be really good especially on game days, when fans can congregate to discuss the game.
I think navigation would be fine like it is, maybe just be able to have a drop down when the cursor goes over it. I kinda like the access being on the top near the bookmarks and sign in, personally.
eta- NM on the navigation comment. I can see the need to redo if you have other boards playing off this one, would make it difficult with a drop down window from the top.

Not sure I understand this part. Will you be looking to limit other fan bases from posting in individual boards?
I would think, as far as policing, and just strictly an idea to bounce around.. individual school boards would be a place for those fans to post and congregate. Other bases should be welcomed, but shorter leashes on them, much like the Tiger Rant.
Any discussion about other schools, unless directly affecting the board's school, would be directed to the SEC Rant, and whoever was in charge of policing the board could handle flames in a manner you deem responsible, by guidelines you set for them to follow.
Another question... will team pages be done away with this replacing them? I would think they would be kinda redundant and unnecessary if you had separate boards that could now be posted in for each fanbase. That would open up tabs and links on the side for the new boards.
And apologies for the constant edits, it's late and I'm sure there will be more I think of to ask tomorrow evening.
Much props to the evolution of TD though.

Yes, eventually, these individual team boards would replace the forum content on the team pages...so there would be direct links on the left.

Thanks...There are a bunch of Bama users already assigned to this group...they just don't know to look for the My Boards link up top.
Eventually, these team forums will replace the Team Pages...and be visible by all. We are just working out some kinks.
It would be nice to have page 1 of the forum filled up with topics upon go-live.
Also, we are still working out the work flow by which people gain (or lose) access to post.

I agree. I really like how it may help out with game threads and have actual in game discussions free from wandering flames and agitations.

Another question or two..
With the ability to create other subforums, like in your OP, will you be possibly doing away with the SEC Recruiting thread and making individual recruiting forums for each school, on their school boards?
And when you have time, can you add CrimsonCutie98 and Tuck and BellaBama to the list?

This is Great Chicken. How are you assigning the Bama fans who don't use the Bama logo by thier name? They have to request it? Might get a few sneakey flamers if so.

I went through a lot of the Bama recruiting thread, and went through various Bama threads to figure who is who...I know I missed people.

yes, we can have a Bama Recruiting forum, a Bama OT, a Bama political forum, etc if it became necessary.
they are just new forums to be created...we would assign this same group to those new forums...
