No Boz we need two. Theres really only 11 ranked spots given who is ahead of us. Clemson is 1st team out right now.

If SC beats Clemson, they have the recency bias to jump Bama even if Bama beat them. That said, I’m good with a strong finish with a new QB and looking forward to next season. Hopefully Milroe decides to sit out of the bowl game.

The rant is heavily saying Bama is in at 12 but that can’t be right isn’t that for the conference champ left out of the top 4?

Then we’d be the first team out. We need something else.

Getting a BS spot and getting embarrassed in the first round isn't an accomplishment.

We are above moral victories or participation trophies.

Season is a gigantic turd.

Yep. At this point, I’d rather go to some meaningless bowl where most of the upperclassmen will sit out so we can get some the younger kids meaningful reps in a game. I don’t want to make the playoffs and get boat raced by a Boise State. I can only take so much abuse.

The fifth conference champ is seeded where they rank if they’re in the top 11. Otherwise, they are 12 no matter where they are ranked.

Georgia losing to Texas in the SECCG will do it.

I disagree. I don’t think the committee will penalize Georgia unless it’s a blowout.

Conversely I do think if Miami runs SMU out of the stadium that would work for either Clemson if they beat SC or us.

Nothing matters however if we run a stupid 3-2-6 against the barn. They’ll run all over us.

Assuming the Big 12 team is stuck at #12, that would put us at 11. Assuming 1. Oregon/Ohio State 2. Texas 3. Miami/SMU 4. Boise...we are probably going on the road to Penn State, Oregon, Notre Dame, or Ohio State in a #6 vs. #11 matchup. That's assuming the current AP rankings are a guide.

We're in at 11 because Boise (G5) is in the top 12 already but B12 leader isn't currently in the top 12

We need a lot of help.

We need Vandy to beat rocky top.
We need SC to beat Clemson or SMU/Miami to lose

I think we will be the 4th ranked SEC team (Texas, Georgia, rocky top, then us), which would be the key thing.

We need a bounce back big game against Aubie though and Aubie doesn't realize that big win against A&M did more for us than it has for them.

The committee had Georgia 3 spots behind us previously. If Georgia gets a third loss, the committee will put Bama ahead not as penalizing UGA, but simply because we have the head to head advantage.

Assuming Tennessee wins out and UGA loses, the correct order should be Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, based first on record and then on H-H.

frick that. If the committee wants to see BAMA in the playoff, I'm all for it.

And BAMA would run Indiana out of their stadium. BAMA would kill PennSt, too.
I like their chances vs OhioSt even. They aren't anything special. Hell, given DeBoer's track record of Lanning, I wouldn't be shocked if BAMA took down Oregon either.

Yes, all with Milroe.

Using the current AP Poll as if it was the CFP Rankings, this is what the playoff would look like right now.

1. Oregon (10-1)
2. Texas (10-1)
3. Miami (10-1)
4. Boise State (10-1)
5. Ohio State (10-1)
6. Penn State (10-1)
7. Notre Dame (10-1)
8. Georgia (9-2)
9. Tennessee (9-2)
10. SMU (10-1)
11. Indiana (10-1)
12. Arizona State (9-2)

1st team out - Clemson (9-2)
2nd team out - Alabama (8-3)
3rd team out - Ole Miss (8-3)
4th team out - South Carolina (8-3)
5th team out - Iowa State (9-2)

#12 is going to be the 5th conference champion slot.

We would have to jump up to #11 to get an at-large.

South Carolina beating Clemson would only move us up to the first team out, and that's only if SCar didn't jump us.

We would probably need 2 losses in the Top 12 to have any shot.

This. We shouldn't be rewarded for being mediocre at best.

frick that. Of the teams in that list, who do you legitimately think would be favored to beat BAMA??

BAMA would run the train on 4-12 minus 5 and 8.

Worst case scenario is all top 12 teams lose this week or next.
Which would be AWESOME!!!

I get the sentiment, but you guys are going to have to accept that we have a 12 team playoff now, and its very possible to be a 3 loss team and make the field. It doesn't matter if a team "deserves" it or not. The 2007 Giants lost 6 regular season games, half of which were in the division, and no one has ever said that the Giants didn't "deserve" to be Super Bowl champs.

I'm just saying, its time we stop thinking about college football post season in terms of BCS, or a 4 team playoff. If a team squeaks in with 3 losses, and wins it all, then they will have deserved it.

That said, I am absolutely not getting my hopes up, especially considering we are about to play Auburn who is coming off their biggest win in 3 years, and we are coming off our most deflating loss in about 17 years, and everyone is down on the program.

If the team that beat LSU showed up maybe. If the team that lost to Vandy, Tennessee, Oklahoma and slept walked through the second half of Georgia and South Carolina, hell no!
