The University embracing “LANK” is embarrassing. We all know what it means.

“Naysayer”, yeah right. It’s trashy that the school was selling that merch in the Supe Store. I understand Terrion hugged Ms. Terry, and Jalen is “nice”, but can we please ban that BS from official university stuff. It’s embarrassing and vulgar. Especially if we are going to lose anyways.

It came from a Saban speech where he said "It's time to let all naysayers know."

It doesn't mean anything vulgar.

but I agree it's really fricking stupid, and it needs to go.

Saban didn't know what it really meant until it was too late.

Wait so did the players start the saying, or did Saban?

Because if the players started it, then it definitely means something vulgar and that would actually make me hate this entire team.

Honestly don’t want to see LANK ever again. Every piece of LANK merchandise should be burned after losing to gd Vanderbilt

I really want a link to that Saban speech or any proof that it happened. Because I was told it was the brain child of Terrion and Jalen. And I’m sorry to say, I don’t think “Naysayer” is part of their day-to-day vocabulary.

ETA: Did Saban say that after LANK was already a thing?

Saban didn't know what it meant. He didn't come up with that BS.

This is not where it came from. From my understanding... That was after it had already came out. The DBs started it first and said to the rest of the team. Terrion and Jalen made it popular.

Writing was on the wall last year. What a joke. But this is CFB now. I just want to root for a team that will make my school proud, even if we lose. I don’t want trashy shite like this.

players only care about their individual "brand" now. they've killed the game.

I remember hearing Saban say “let a naysayer know” before when being interviewed, but it’s not like he could just say let a (that word) know on tv, or anywhere. But he didn’t take credit for coming up with it. He said Milroe and Arnold came up with the phrase.

This is correct. Milroe and Arnold made the term popular. I also think it was pretty embarrassing for the University to embrace. Honestly, ready for all the players in Saban's last couple of recruiting classes to go.

I think we have actual problems to worry about rather than these old, white man issues. And I'm an old, white man.

I don’t even care if Saban didn’t know what it meant. There were so many people that were involved in “LANK” arriving to the Supe Store. Someone knew what it meant! And we let it go. Again, TRASHY!

Wow so the more I look into it, it looks like it was started by Terrion Arnold and Milroe.

So LANK literally means Let a **** know? That's what our university has been promoting?

Holy frick I can't believe that. I'm done supporting Alabama football.

100% done.

I’d prefer if there is a catchphrase then it should only continue if you win a championship.

But fwiw Lank is a terrible sounding word for an acronym.
