If it was obvious to most of us immediately that DeBoer’s personality and temperament were not a good fit, it should’ve been obvious to Byrne as well. Record aside, it just isn’t working. DeBoer had major success going to places where expectations were very low in places where football is not as sacred as it is here. He was in over his head from day one.

At this point I don't know what to expect on a weekly basis

I don’t see 9 wins. It will be a miracle to make a bowl game at this point.

At the time he felt like he was too unproven, largely because he had such little resume to run off of. Where i've genuinely had complaints is the coaching staff felt subpar in certain spots (LBs, Wommack hire).

Saban didn't really give us a great set of options. Maybe we swing on James Franklin? But his coaching so far is just . Can't get over the hump and can't seem to develop a QB

Sark really felt like "the guy", but obviously Texas beat us to the punch

Im just thinking about all the money we put into the football program... the facilities... the stadium upgrades... the staff ... everything top flight... and we have a bottom tier SEC team.

I'm not super concerned with LSU after last season. Nor am I concerned about Mizzou. Tennessee, yes. Auburn, yes. Georgia, of course.

I'd say go 1-2 against those latter three and we're probably fine. I could see us going 2-1 (Georgia loss) but Wommack makes me feel less than confident with one of Auburn/Tennessee

I also wouldn't be shocked if we somehow beat Georgia but lost against Auburn

"DeBoer fell to 6-4 against unranked teams at Alabama. Saban went 124-4 in such games."

Good lord.

And when there's a next time, forget about getting a "big name"...get the best fit.

If you're looking for the next Saban I don't know where you think you're going to find him

We don't need the next Saban... We need a coach that can prepare a fundamentally sound team with an ounce of backbone that wants to win...I'd be happy with a coach that shows improvement.

I don't disagree with you, but you guys have got to stop comparing him to Saban statistics because no one is going to match that

Chill, laid back dudes and success in the SEC are mutual exclusive. Almost every coach who has been able to win consistently in the SEC has to have extreme passion and intensity and fire.

Deboer approaches coaching football like he's managing a Best Buy.

A repeat of today and 6-6 is likely. Losses to UGA, UTK, USC, LSU and AU. With high likelihood of a loss to Mizzou and then already loss to Vandy and OU last year. Could get ugly fast.

Always has looked tough. 9-3 has always been this teams ceiling. At Auburn and at Georgia have been sure fire losses for a while now. The FSU game was always a toss up.

After getting run off the field against FSU, 8-4 might be the ceiling.

Case in point - Lane Kiffin. West Coast guy brought all those vibes with him but he has a fire and intensity for the game.
