Womack has to be more multiple than just continuing to play with 3-3-5 personnel in every situation.

Womack might just be a bum. He might literally be incapable for doing more than one thing. My 12 year old son was continuously asking why Alabama's defense didn't change something up the entire game. He doesn't even play football other than backyard.

Yes, the defensive players played soft as hell and they take a lot of blame but it is up to the coaches to switch it up for them and do something to flip them into an aggressive mindset. Womack seemed clueless and I guess Deboer didn't know how to get him to fix it either.

It’s frustrating to me because we’ve clearly tailored the offense to the personnel but haven’t done the same with the defense. I think Jefferson is really the straw that stirs the drink as it pertains to being more multiple, but if you’re relying on one often injured player for it to work, that’s a problem in itself.

There isn’t a defense in college football that is going to be good at defending every type of offense from a personnel standpoint, but we have 7 or 8 290+ pound defensive linemen. Not being able to slow down an interior running game is a scheme issue

Nah man....To fix this, Wommack needs to INCEASE the spacing for the 3-man front. There should be a minum of 30' between each DL. They should be on the wide receivers. It would totally freak everyone out and I'm pretty sure our Dlinemen can beat a WR blocking.

I don't remember seeing much of Jefferson. Seems like he would be a good guy to have against Vandy. He wouldn't chop in place like the other LBs waiting for someone to come get them. He'd fly into the line and make something happen.

This is a serious question. Where is the talent? I get that we supposedly have the highest ranked team in the country based upon recruting rankings of players but anyone who is watching the games can see there are no "dudes" out there. Nobody jumps off the screen. In fact, go check all the mock drafts. The only potential 1st round guys are Milroe and Booker. I would argue from an NFL talent standpoint this is one of the worst Bama teams in a very long time. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. We miss Trey Amos and Caleb Downs. Would have made a huge difference this year.

There is a lot of talent on the roster. Now, whether that talent is a match for the current scheme and where they are in their development is a huge question mark.

If I had to compare, 2010 seems familiar. Tons of talent, but very young and raw.

What we'll miss massively this year is with Saban there was always linear progress and improvement throughout the year. I'm afraid we're going to see things that you saw with other programs throughout those years. Fits and starts and sporadic progress.

I agree with you as it pertained to last Saturday, but we've had plenty of dudes step up and make plays and jump off the screen in every game leading up to Saturday.

Defense just swarms to the bench to tell the offense they have to score again

Didn’t it seem like DeBoer gained 10 pounds since the Georgia game?
