I can understand why someone would want Dabo when Saban retires. I won't argue that he's a good football coach. I just personally could not tolerate his weekly foot in mouth moment, any attempt at "Lil Ole Alabama", and especially not his part time preacher part time football coach nonsense. I can't stand that crap, and I think it's all totally fake. Even if he won big, I still wouldn't like him.
Wanting Saban to be fired and Avery to be retained though? Oof. You don't even see takes that stupid on the Tiger Rant more than once a month.

I'm not on the Dabo bandwagon. If he's hired I'd deal with it.
I'd like to see what Sark does at Texas. I didn't pay much attention to him at USC or Washington. I wonder though if he goes on a run if he ever leaves Texas.

How the hell we went from oc to discussing replacement for saban!?!?!?

I've definitely moved into the camp that Dabo's entire coaching and motivating philosophy would not work at Alabama, and very quickly would make him prickly and irritable.
His entire program is built around things that are pure Clemson/Auburn - and I don't even say that in a derisive way. Everything goes back to an "us against the world" mentality born out of being the non-flagship school of the state and a non-blue blood. He milked that stuff for everything it had, and he did it damn well. And part of it will continue to be successful, but part of it they are going to have to examine and figure out going forward, because it is clear that the whole "get fired up in the playoffs cause we are disrespected" thing isn't working anymore.
And none of that works at Alabama. You can't come out and be lil ole Bama - not when you suck, not when you are good, never.

Well, that’s interesting

It fits the familiarity narrative. But that’s about it.

Didn’t see le previous mention.
Seems like a stretch to me. As lousy as he was in Houston, I don’t think he’s fallen to NCAA OC status. I’d be 100% behind it if it happened though.

Social media has dumbed down people and there is no way back.
If the BOT doesn't give Dabo the 1st chance to get the keys then they are as stupid as they were with Bobby Bowden over Bill where is my sunglasses Curry.

Bill O'Brien would be a home run. I don't see it happening but man it would be a great hire.

Has anyone considered that Dabo plays the “poor lil ol clemmy” because its freaking Clemson. Who’s to say he wouldn’t play it completely different at a historic juggernaut like Bama? I’m in the camp that you better not pass on the best coach out there.

I've considered that, but I think Dabo's entire personality fits that thing like a glove. It does not fit running the authoritarian dictator program built to crush dreams.
Doesn't mean he wouldn't be successful here, but I don't think his personality or program persona would change.

Agree on both counts. Would be about as good a hire as we could make, IMHO. I just don't see why it would happen.
