It looks like he has room for improvement prior to entering the draft.
Staying an extra year has paid off in millions for several of our guys

Wouldn't be a bad decision for him to stay. I know he is a 3rd year guy (redshirt soph), but he only has 2 years of actual playing time. There also could be an influx of CBs entering this year and the extra year could help his value.

He isn't a 1st rounder right now, so he should come back. I think AA has been our best corner this year to be honest.

Yep....guess his draft grade wasn't that great.

He needs to come back and work on some things. AA is running a clinic on the opposite side though.

Agreed. Love seeing AA do so well.
Marlon is having a slump, no doubt. He hasn't played awful, but he has given up a long pass play in almost every game it seems. He will be a beast next year.

A lot of mock drafts have him currently top 15 and some top 10. They draft on potential and why OJ was high on some mock drafts

A lot of draft boards that I've seen still have him as an early first rounder. Would be surprised to see him stay, tbh.

I hope he stays but he seems to actually moving up in most mock drafts I have seen him as high as 6 today in the CBS and many others top 10.
Some mocks have 5 to 6 going in the first round depending on where Howard falls. Allen is starting to pop up as the top pick. Some have Allen, Humphrey, Williams, Foster, and Robinson all top 15 and 4 of them in the top 4.

I think he will wait for his draft grade before making that choice

Marlon has had some issues down the field, but he fantastic in press coverage within 10-15 yards and is as good a tackler as any corner we've ever had.

I like the kid but I am ok with him leaving if he thinks that is what's best for him. We will be ok with or without him. I think we have a couple of kids that could step into that role next year.

Agreed. He's been balling.
Took a look at the 2013 class recently that Averett was apart of....Just wow at the Studs in this class. Could end up rivaling the 2008 class by years end
Reuben Foster
Derrick Henry
OJ Howard
A'Shawn Robinson
Ardarius Stewart
Eddie Jackson
Bradley Bozeman
Jon Allen
Tim Williams
Anthony Averett
Class was loaded

The mock draft boards are notoriously WAY off. They all had Robinson, Reed and Ragland as 1st round locks last year. Nobody saw Kelley going as high as he did either.
Based on his performacne this year, Hump needs another year. I expect him back in 2017 unless he ignores Saban's advice.
Having Hump, AA, Tony, Fitz, Harrison an Hootie all back next year plus all the young guys is a sick secondary. Which we may need with a lot of turnover in the front 7.

Hump coming back may also be the "catalyst" for Dean being rumored NOT to be in the class. Not sure you need a JUCO guy, if Minka, Averett, Brown and Hump would all be back next year. Would basically have the same starters and backups while Knott, Mayden and Carter gain more experience

Yeah Averett has been way better in coverage in his limited action. I think Hump is the more explosive player and a better athlete, but needs to improve his coverage. Averett sticks on like glue and actually turns his head around.

He stays on the field now with Fitzmagic @ safety no? All 3 look the same in pads. At the UK game 2 of their jerseys got rolled up and it was nigh impossible to tell them apart.

Definitely. Averett and Hump at corners, Fitz and Harrison at safety, Hootie and Brown come in as 5th or 6th guys or to rotate in safety and corner.
