Wonder what the future holds for Coleman.

Hopefully a wrecking ball.

I actually like Coleman, mostly for sentimental reasons. But it's time for a new arena with better sight lines and atmosphere.

I believe the plan is to implode Coleman and build on the same site. We will be playing a year at the BJCC until the construction is completed.

Some guy on TI said it would be an $80 million renovation to Coleman that would basically change almost everything inside of the arena. Seating would go to 12k. He also said we'd play a year at the BJCC

That's the plan but they may have to implode if they can't properly remove the roof. There are so many issues with the roof.

Same here. I thought I was the only one. It is definitely unique with character.

Which is why I would be a fan of this...

Open air, but with a roof like the Seahawks to keep in the noise. True, it's going to suck on foggy nights but the home court advantage...

Coleman has been holding our program back for awhile. The renovation we did a decade ago was a complete waste of money.

Gut it or bulldoze it, I don’t care. At the end of the day the arena needs to be completely different and conducive to a great basketball atmosphere.

At 80 million, is it really cheaper to remodel? When I build stuff, it's usually cheaper and easier to start from scratch than to retrofit things.

That's what I was thinking. And I seem to recall when they renovated it 10 or so years ago, there was something with the design of it that wouldn't allow them to make major changes to the layout of it. But maybe I'm not remembering it right.

Get rid of the Damn Umbrella ceiling, shrink capacity, and bring the seats closer.

frick yes though the BJCC is only like 40 mins from the house, I'll probably go to every home game ther instead of only 2 or 3 a year in TTown.

the orientation of the court should be in the opposite direction. Really they should just year it down and rebuild. Would that really be that much more expensive than $80 million?

I think Auburn Arena should be the model we copy.
