Forget 2nd team Oline, it’s timing with receivers. A go to a 4.5 receiver is way different than a go to a 4.3
Who do you think the backups are throwing to?

Your never played a down of football in your life.

If you sit pine for years, and then suddenly have 6 minutes to show the coaches, team, your family, and everyone watching on national TV that you can play QB1 suddenly all the WRs look open, and it's easy to do too much. Same in baseball for bats coming off the bench... "why did he swing at that!" Because he's been dreaming of a center cut fastball for a week from the bench. You either played sports growing up and understand these things, or you didn't and you dont. If Ty had been starting since last year I think he would be very comfortable and in command of the offense by
100% agree with this too. However, he still has not had that moment where you know he’s got the juice like Tua did in that Vanderbilt game. I can’t remember the throw but when I saw it I thought “I don’t know if Alabama’s had a qb in my lifetime who could make that throw.”
He could be better than Milroe but it isn’t a slam dunk like how I knew our offense would be better with Tua than Hurts in 2017.

Jalen is a running back attempting to play qb. He is what he is and that’s been obvious since at least the middle of the season. The real indictment is on the coaching staff for not having the guts to make a change.

It’s been obvious since he was forced to start against Texas A&M in 2022. And if you pointed out his obvious flaws his surrogates attack you.

The sunshine pumping on Milroe from some of our fans is truly inexplicable. Aside from being arrogant and unlikeable, he’s also the worst qb we’ve had in the last 15 years. He’s been absolutely awful against SEC opponents this year.

There are a handful of his boot lickers on this site who stalk my posts because they know that I’m telling the truth. That’s fine. Everything that you said is spot on accurate.

He's definitely a future politician. That's his calling .... not being a professional QB!

Nobody is stalking your posts. You've just posted so much since Saturday in every thread that people have like a 50/50 shot at replying to you if they post on the site. And you keep ranting about these bootlickers and Jalen surrogates but I can't recall a single post defending Jalen since the game Saturday. To be fair though I haven't been on here nearly as much as you seem to be.
I'll admit to being a Jalen defender most of the season. Early on I thought he seemed to have made some progress from last season. He seemed to be going through progressions better, hitting short and intermediate throws better, and making better decisions overall. Then Tennessee happened and he looked the same as he did last season against a good defenses. I hoped it was just a regression under harsh road conditions but Okie proved it wasn't. He's just not a good QB against good defenses as SoG pointed out in his OP.
I still don't think he deserves all the personal attacks he gets on here though. But then that's mostly people being emotional after a loss. Attack his play on the field, attack his abilities as a QB, but the unfounded attacks on his character seem unnecessary. Then again I coach high schoolers so I'm pretty used to how teenagers act these days.

I was about to say the same thing. I saw in the stands in the '22 A&M game when he played and thought to myself "there's no way he's a quarterback." Gut instinct proved correct, minus a few flashes of greatness over the past two years.

You make excellent points.
I *think* that a number of Milroe's runs were designed to be options where he could either hand off or keep the ball, and that he chose to keep the ball when he should have handed off. (Of course, if that is correct, one could still criticize the coaches for keeping on calling options when it was clear that he was making that error repeatedly.)
Others on this board are far more knowledgeable than I am, so "I'll hang up and listen, Pawl."

Thanks for posting -- I posted a reply speculating that something along these lines was what was going on, but you filled in a lot of blanks for me.

That's a sensible take.
All I would say in response is that at this point in the season, why not just say the logic for having played JM no longer applies and give someone else a shot?

Mac Jones has the same 40 time as Patrick Mahomes @ 4.74, faster than Tua @ 4.84, and a little slower than Watson @ ?4.67?. OTOH, he is athletically awkward. Watch him when he runs, you can tell he has decent speed but then he might sprain his ankle when he slides.

If he was afraid of a DB and allowed him to spit in his face on a national broadcast, why wouldn’t he be afraid of a QB?
