You do know what happens when you play scared or play with anxiety right? You don't get to the spot on the field when you are supposed to, you are a step late! You are just as soft as this defense and thats the problem!

Saban can’t even sleep now because he’s trying to figure out why the team so anxious. Is saban trying to tell us this year is over or is this some kinda joke?

I thought this was an odd thing to say as well. They have an entire behavioral health department in the sports science center filled with mental health professionals. They are the ones who should be losing sleep over our athletes openly admitting they couldn't perform well under pressure due to anxiety.

They are the ones who should be figuring out why our players aren't turning that anxiety into excitement and why they're afraid to fail instead of excited to succeed.

I don't blame the players for being anxious, it's a natural human emotion. But I absolutely blame the staff at the behavioral health department for not giving them the tools and training to overcome that anxiety.

Well, if you look at how Bama played vs Texas, UT, A&M, and the 3rd qtr vs The Hogs then you see the play of this team is just their normal performance. Can they stumble along and beat the rest of the teams on the schedule? I would say no.

Saban is a great recruiter and great organizer, but he has never been a great coach, and offense is definitely his biggest weakness. If you look at his OC hires, for me he's been 50/50 at best. Saban has been slightly better at DC. Saban is very mechanical in his approach to the game and there are much better in-game coaches. Without 5-star talent, Saban couldn't make it at a mediocre school where he had to coach them up. Especially in his latter years since he has gotten overly PC. Saban's personality is dry and he needs the other coaches around him to bring energy to the team..............As for the players, I am one who believes they need more tough love than coddling. Let the old players come kick them in the azz.

He attracted the best talent which made up for it. LSU is also is not quite medicore. Its the major SEC school that lays dormant till the right coach come along. But even at LSU, talent can make stale coaching look great.

To you it may be, but I believe it to be true because he has a hard time consistently hiring good coaches. A good coach knows good coaching when he sees it. Saban's coordinators are a reflection of him, therefore he is either soft or in his professional opinion he views their medioocrrity as acceptable. Either way, Saban better hire some better coaches that bring leadership to this team or next year we'll see the same team in decline as the past 2 years.

This is why this board is terrible most of the time. I make an excellent joke throwing shade at LSU and calling them a mediocre program. And this is the response.

You have to consider the limitations of the written text. You also failed to put a smiley emoji to let me know your thought process. One cannot read the mind-intent of plain words.

UGA-Smart, Marshall-Huff, Florida-Napier, Ole Miss-Kiffin, Texas-Sark, Michigan State-Tucker, Miami-Cristobal, Giants-Daboll, Maryland-Locks, A&M-Jimbo, Central Michigan-McElwain.

That's just off the top of my head of former Saban hires who are currently head coaches. But yeah he doesn't hire good coaches.

Look now you put smiley faces on a post to show emotion. You are learning....As for the coaches, take all his coaching hires and it would make for spirited debate material. The fact you put McElwain and Loxley in there is quite humorous. You might want to review their career records.

This guy is going to be in for a rude awakening when mediocre Saban retires and Alabama starts losing more than 0-2 games a year and stops winning nearly half of the national championships.

Saban is very good at organizing and recruiting. Besides that, you have a very negative attitude toward the future. Sorry to hear you make such terrible predictions about Bama.

It's true, I'm a pessimist. I don't think Bama will continue to win about 1/2 of the national championships in college football in perpetuity. Probably only 25%. Going to be hard times coming.

Back to the Anxiety, I think the anxiety comes when we play hurry up fast play teams. We have defensive breakdowns because we cant get our plays called and the defense set before they start the play. This results in defensive breakdowns and big plays. IMO, we should practice and run some hurry up offense again. At least the defense gets to practice against it.
